Reports on Twitter are that Christian Eriksen is signing for a Prem club in the next week. Good luck to him.

Not a rumour nor a link, just a discussion. Danny Ings at Villa, body language isn't great and not making a great impact at Villa. Gerrard now starting to get his own players in and wonder if Ings is in Gerrards plans......wish we could afford his wages.
Same applies to Ollie Watkins.

Pedersen
A 27 year old with 1 cap for a country with a population of c 6m and a ‘valuable squad member’ with a Championship club: more excitement ….if true. Looks more Dyche framework than Pace model…..but I suspect this one is wide of the mark

Doesn't Pieters have another year left? If his contract is up this summer it kind of makes sense.

Not sure what our offer was for Fofana but French memebwrs of Twitter are laughing at the suggestion that we have offered €17m , they clearly think he’s worth much much more

It would seem very un Burnley like to make a ridiculously low offer
Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
If, IF we've come in with an opening offer of 17m, then of course he's worth more than that.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:31 pmNot sure what our offer was for Fofana but French memebwrs of Twitter are laughing at the suggestion that we have offered €17m , they clearly think he’s worth much much more
In business, you never accept the first offer, even more so when you don't even want to sell.
If anything you'll need to pay over the odds.

Sure there were similar posts over summer over us not offering enough for Cornet and he ended up signing. Obviously the selling club want to create an auction half way through the month.

We don’t really have any choice but to hope “under promise over deliver” is a lot more than a catchphrase, I’m still reasonably comfortable he’s up to something, player/s wise.

Now that we have access to some ready cash from the Wood sale, we should be looking to buy Tom Lawrence from Derby.
The administrator would snatch at any deal that is cash up front.

I did mention Knight a couple of days ago, didn't realise Lawrence was also on the market. If we can snap both those up for nominal fees that would be smart business.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 10:14 pmNow that we have access to some ready cash from the Wood sale, we should be looking to buy Tom Lawrence from Derby.

Not sure about Lawrence, he’s 28 now and spent most his career in the championship, Knight on the other hand I’d take tomorrow, good age, versatile and a decent engine .

Benteke and Origi - I’d be delighted with them as a pair. I think they’d both suit us. Benteke may have no resale value but I think he’d do well at Burnley. He impressed me in the 3-3 draw recently. Origi is a bit of a curio but I’d be very happy to see how he’d do starting every week.

Origi would be a brilliant signing. Assume we’d only get him on loan, in which case can’t see why Liverpool would let him go.
Benteke, no thanks.
All feels a bit of a nothing article really.

Re: January 2022 Burnley Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Looking at the Guirassy vid, he's a big unit and would suit our system at present looks like he can move as well, which is different to Wood, Origi no chance, he will want a bigger club, Benteke at £10 mill 31 yrs of age not for me.

Johnson and Knight would be two good buys for the future and as subs to add energy and pace to an ageing team.

Origi is out of contract in the summer, so a loan would probably suit the player as an opportunity to get eyes on him going onto the summer market. I doubt Klopp would be happy to help us or Dyche with a loan though.

Subs I'd be getting them straight into the first team, anything to revitalise our ailing midfield, and let's be honest they can't be any worse than our current crop.CnBtruntru wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:09 pmJohnson and Knight would be two good buys for the future and as subs to add energy and pace to an ageing team.
Johnson is Welsh so the Collins and Hennessey link might help us in that respect.
Knight we've been linked to before, but with Derby's precarious finances we should be able to pick him up for a relative song, this is the market we should be exploring, not wasting our time on over the hill types.

A permanent move would help him more, he wants to stay in England, we are close to Liverpool so doesn't need to relocate, he'll be the main man here playing every week in his natural position and don't forget, it's World Cup year and he's on the fringes currently.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:13 pmOrigi is out of contract in the summer, so a loan would probably suit the player as an opportunity to get eyes on him going onto the summer market. I'd take Lawrence, Johnson, Swift, Knight and Wallace Would probably get 4 of the 5 (minus Johnson) for £10m.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 11:21 pmSubs I'd be getting them straight into the first team, anything to revitalise our ailing midfield, and let's be honest they can't be any worse than our current crop.
