Tonight's Footy
Spurs hopefully had a good rest after the postponement and will see off Brentford.
Then Man U /Arsenal. Not particularly arsed about that.

1-0 Spurs at HT, but it should have been many more, Brentford definitely aren't out of the relegation picture yet.

Goalkeeper rolling about on the floor trying to get play stopped backfires. You are taught at school to play to the whistle. Well done Martin Atkinson

lol. You'd all be raging against the ref and then against the opponents for not giving the goal back had that happened to us.

Only because the ref was slow with his whistle though.Herts Clarets wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:35 pmGoalkeeper rolling about on the floor trying to get play stopped backfires. You are taught at school to play to the whistle. Well done Martin Atkinson
Distinct impression from his body language he was attempting to give a drop ball but VAR gave the goal. He *should* has whistled and pointed to the centre spot when the goal was scored.

Re: Tonight's Footy
Utd their own worst enemies there serves them right.
If Arsenal win this game they'll be in the top 4, that's quite a turnaround inspired by Arteta you've got to admit.

Totally this. Feigning injury bites. Good. The commentators saying "thank goodness DeGea is ok". Yeah, he really looked as though his season was over. Poor Utd not getting the rub of the greenHerts Clarets wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:35 pmGoalkeeper rolling about on the floor trying to get play stopped backfires. Re: Tonight's Footy
There was no foul on the keeper, so no need to blow the whistle, ok goalie was looking like he’d been shot but that’s what they all do.

Re. Tavares the amount of feigning a head injury these days is pretty disgusting.

Re: Tonight's Footy
There should be retro-active punishments for that ****. I think there should be for other injury feigning too but head injuries are the worst ones to feign because it endangers others when they have real injuries and the ref doesn't believe them.

Re: Tonight's Footy
btw, no one should be blaming De Gea for that goal. Fred's studs get raked against his achilles and that fking hurts.

Re: Tonight's Footy
Brentford season taking on a distinct look of our Coyle 2009 Prem season.
On the slide now, and our game in hand could leave them only 3 points above us.
More clubs in the relegation mix than ever now.

Fair do’s but this illustrates the problem of players feigning injury. No one knows anymore what is genuine and what is fake.PeterWilton wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:04 pmbtw, no one should be blaming De Gea for that goal. Fred's studs get raked against his achilles and that fking hurts.

Re: Tonight's Footy
I used to play in goal. I would not have gone down with a broken leg if the ball was still in play never mind a tap on the leg from Fred. The telling bit was how soon he recovered and no lasting problems. De Gea at fault for me.PeterWilton wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:04 pmbtw, no one should be blaming De Gea for that goal. De Gea thought an arsenal player had stood on him the soft get.

Thing is the Fred touch may have been a little uncomfortable but nothing to create DeGea to go rolling around like he did and he got, rightly so, punished for being a soft git.
