Collecting away tickets from last 35 years!

Post by Capital Claret » Thu Dec 02, 2021 9:08 pm

During the pandemic I've collected up all my away tickets from the last 35 years and put them into an album, very sad I know but I've had plenty of time on my hands!!
I'm short of loads, if I put a list on here would anyone help???
I certainly don't go to every match and only want tickets where I went.

Thanks

The chances are that if people have still got their tickets it's because they collect them as well.

I used to save them but had a clear out a few years ago (well the wife made me 😥😥)
So sorry buddy and they would have probably matched over the past 35 years too ... good luck in your search 👍

I have a box full from the last 50 years. If you let me know and I’ve got them. I’ll send them.

Same here.

Put a list up, CC, and I'll see what I can do.

Only one I've still got (I think its in the bottom of my draw of my desk) is my stub from Grimsby 6 Burnley 5

Simply because I doubt I'll go to a more bonkers game

For reasons I can't quite explain, I still have my Chelsea away ticket from 2017 (3-2!) on my desk, right here.

I’ve got a pile of them as well. If you’re at Newcastle tomorrow or TM next week, let me know and hand them over to you.

If anyone wants to get rid of their stubs, I would welcome them.

I've tried to source a stub from each ground I've visited, preferably the game I attended, however often when younger I'd be lifted over, or used any stub I did as confetti for when the players came out about 1990 onwards are the ones I need, I started keeping many from 2000 onwards, but a few are tatty and or ripped due to the away days having more beer consumed.

So if anyone is throwing them, clearing out etc, I'll happily take them.

I think I'm upto around 80 grounds visited with stubs now.
I'm hoping to do all 92 league grounds one day, but for obvious reasons I hope we stay well clear of the ones I need in leagues 1 and 2..

Edit- I don't want to hijack the OP, so only once he is sorted or full can I be considered.

Hopefully the FA cup draw on Monday night takes us to a new ground in the 4th tier or lower.

Yes, been quite fortunate with league Cup and friendlies in recent years, but sadly the latter you don't get stubs for

Off top of my head

Halifax A 1992
Rochdale A 1992
Liverpool away FA Cup under Mullen, we lost 1-0.
Preston A 3-2 we were in the side stand
Leeds A 2005
Notts County A think it was last game of season or very close to being. again about late 90s

I've also no stub for Fleetwood or Morcambe and I've been to each A couple if times.

And if you've a 1966 wotld cup final match stub I'll take that aswell if possible ;)

Fair play keeping this ticket in good condition.

I didn't go to the 3rd game on the Monday night but had my ticket in my back pocket for the two called off ones.
It was quite tatty by the time I returned it to our ticket office.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
I'll pay for any postage or happily meet up to collect, thanks in advance.

That's some list.

The 2004 Bradford game didn't have tickets as they thought they might go bump and probably owed money to the printers.

A 66 World Cup Final ticket is worth quite a bit of money, for anyone thinking of giving 1 away.

That's some list.

The 2004 Bradford game didn't have tickets as they thought they might go bump and probably owed money to the printers.
Thanks, didn't know that! I'll strike it off my list!

If I've any spare u need I'll let you have them, what do u need?

Off top of my head

Halifax A 1992
Rochdale A 1992
Liverpool away FA Cup under Mullen, we lost 1-0.
Preston A 3-2 we were in the side stand
Leeds A 2005
Notts County A think it was last game of season or very close to being. again about late 90s

I've also no stub for Fleetwood or Morcambe and I've been to each A couple if times.

I would love Halifax and Notts county tickets if you still have them mate? Many thanks
And if you've a 1966 wotld cup final match stub I'll take that aswell if possible ;)

Was chaos that game I ended up with an aisle between us clarets and Bradford fans singing ‘we’ve got Robbie Blake’ after he scored. Needless to say they weren’t v happy

It's how I like away days. No tickets so you don't know how big a following you will take and the Clarets just kept on coming.

We were lucky as we walked past the side stand just as a turnstile opened about 2.15, after being told the stand behind the goal was already closed due to being full.

They moved Bradford fans up to make room for us and then kept moving them further up as more Clarets got in.

If you get any duplicates or ones you don't need, I'd happily take them off you hands to put in my collection or to replace the tatty/ripped ones I have.

A couple of pictures from a good few years ago when I had a count.
Some are laminated as I did a school project on them a couple of decades ago.

Thought it was going to kick off bad when they started to move those Bradford fans.
