Any idea what take up will be like compared to allocation as there’s a group of us that want to go? Presume we’ll get a big allocation but ronaldo factor may play a part.

Hard to say given that we don't know the allocation. If we've taken the full 3 thousand everybody who wants a ticket will get one.
I personally think plenty of people will give this one a miss given its on TV and the ko time. Leeds will be more popular.

Both will be popular but it's easier transport wise to get to Manchester and back.

It would surprise me if we sold more tickets for Leeds than Man Utd.
I agree the kick off time isn't great but I would have thought that Old Trafford would be much more popular.

Checked my confirmation and it looks like we have sold just over 1600 tickets so far which is great if correct.

I’d imagine they will both sell out given its Xmas etc. And the Leeds game is massive given both sides positions.

True

I was planning on doing Leeds and Man Utd on the lash with the lads as a day out, but pulled out after the sh1t show that was Newcastle.

I had already paid for Villa train and match tickets so have to go there.

However my son came home from school Wednesday and heard we are playing Man Utd over Xmas and wants to go with his pal.
Safe to say at 15, i won't let him go away on his own even though he can go on the coach and it's close, so now I'm designated driver :(
I was hoping they had sold out when I went on to buy them Thursday afternoon.

Although both are season ticket holders on the Turf, his words were "can we go watch Burnley v Man Utd it'll be amazing to see Ronaldo live"
So yes people will certainly be going so in years to come they can say they've seen the world's greatest ever player play and/or play against Burnley.

I certainly appreciate the opposition at cricket but don't seem to be able to when watching Burnley.

Wouldn't surprise me if the club got in touch saying the tickets had been sold to me by accident if I'm honest.

It came on and then chucked me out 5 times after changing my order half way through.

The website is the worst in the world.

It kept changing the kids tickets I wanted for Leeds but got there at the 8th attempt.

Just refreshed again and saying sold out. Sorry I can't be of any help Quicken. As you say, the website is poor, hence my lack of confidence I have the tickets, despite the confirmation sat in my emails  . We'll see.

It’s not just the fifa generation as you put it. Grounds around the country sold out when Stanley Matthews was in town.

Absolutely this fifa/fantasy football/sky sports generation seem to support or follow a few teams, and many just follow a single player or goats as they seem to call them.

I can appreciate the abilities of footballers and how they play the game, however I can never accept it at Burnley's expense.

Got some.

Even though it wouldn't let me buy a an U16s ticket for my 15yr old son. I gave up in the end and paid for the next category up.

Looks like they are loading small batches on to the system and then saying sold out. Then re loading.

But if that is the case, why doesn't the message say 'unavailable at present, system being reloaded, try again shortly', instead of just 'Sold out'!

The system also does that with me regularly, changes the price category of concession tickets that I'm trying to buy. It's very annoying.

In fairness it’s pretty rare that anyone hosting Man Utd at anytime isn’t a sell out. (Yes I know we’re away ) Sure the “ Ronaldo “ thing is a pull I guess but he’ll be getting dogs abuse hopefully if he puts a foot wrong

Mine have come through the post, 4 tickets are circled 16,17 & over 65 and one is just left blank.

I ordered 2 adults and 3 under 16s..
The receipt says £91, which is
2 × £30 ( adults )
3 × £10 ( under 16s )
Plus the £1 postage /transaction fee

I do wonder whats going on down there at times, and that's not even the technology to blame, that's a person just messing it up/not reading the order correctly

I popped into the ticket office on Sunday and was able to get two tickets without any problems, just had to provide my claret number. The website at that time was showing that tickets were “unavailable”.

Barring a postponement due to Covid, this game looks like it will go ahead. Any recommendations/away pubs in the city centre or en route to OT before the match?

Shouldn't have any bother getting in anywhere on a Thursday afternoon. Turks Head in the Northern quarter is normally a decent bet, usually a few Clarets in there.
