That’s a fixture just loaded with history, and surely offering a good chance of progression… provided the troops to cover two fronts can be achieved. We need back up, or not to risk injuries at this point. January makes or breaks us in so many ways this season.

Full side out. Hopefully a 2/3/4 goal win. Boost confidence. Win some league games before the 4th round then “rest” a few of the more important lads.

Saying that we’ve got Leicester City and then Arsenal.

Tasty Lancs/Yorks derby, and you'd imagine they'd bring a few, agree with Dyched field a strong side and let's try and get some much needed momentum into our season.

Loaded with history, indeed. Have a hazy recollection of Dad driving us over to Yorkshire for a 5th Round Cup game against Huddersfield in the 1956/57 season....just a mere 64 years ago.

We'd scored a memorable 16 goals in the previous two rounds against Chesterfield 7-0 and New Brighton 9-0 and we ended up winning this one 2-1 with goals from Albert Cheesebrough and Ian Lawson. Can only remember the winner though from Lawson.

saw us beat em down the Turf 3-0 in the cup.
Must be around 1965 if my memory is still there?

Our record attendance was against Huddersfield in a 3rd round tie way back in 1924 nearly 55,000, the cup was clearly treated in much higher esteem then.

Once again Chelsea get the home draw against lower league opposition. No wonder they get to so many finals. This is a 3rd round tradition.

Great draw for Chesterfield though, and not bad for Morecambe either a trip to Spurs.

I was at the 56/7 cup tie when Ian Lawson bagged a brace in a 2-1 win. Massive crowd over 55000 I think. Won’t be quite that many at the Turf but Huddersfield are going well and will have a decent following

Think we lost 1-0 to Frank Worthington's 'Udders back then?
Weren't we a league slow them?
We did and they were a division above us

Think you can scratch Barnes from that team. I’d be surprised to see Barnes in a Burnley shirt again

it was 15th February 1964 tally!
The following month I attended my first game at Turf Moor 28th March 1964:
Burnley beating Stoke City 1 - 0 (Jimmy Mac capt for the day for Stoke on his 1st return after being sold by Mr Lord.
My brother Norman took me and I remember you were there too!
How are you Peter?
Take care + UTC!

Decent draw, shame it isn't away as Huddersfield is a good day out.

Its a good draw as far as I'm concerned. My mate a big Town fan will come and we'll have a jar or two.

Might go to a replay though especially considering our dire recent record against lower league sides.

Only lost 3 times in last 19 seasons to teams from lower divisions in the FA Cup

Lincoln is obviously one.

It's late and I can't be bothered to look up the others :?:

Barnsley in 2010 wasn't it, we certainly went out to them at some point recently.

They weren’t below us at the time - was in 2013.
