Do we not practice free kicks in training?
Every one we get anywhere near the opposition's penalty area seems to end up going over the bar

I can't watch this till the end of the season. Something needs to change.

Our biggest issue is our midfield. Miles off Premier League standard I think. Defence and attack suffers as a result. A long winter ahead I fear.

Worst bit of this is Newcastle are absolutely abysmal. It’s gonna be a long winter.

Get McNeil wide left where he belongs. No crosses coming in. We need to score not lose 1-0

We look poor this half but the problem is we have given them something to hold onto and none of our bench options have goals I them

Re: Newcastle United v Burnley match thread
Defour scored a couple during his time, including that stunner at OT, but yes it's a part of our game we've been lacking in for far too long.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 4:20 pmWe’re so bad at direct free kicks. The last one I can remember us scoring is Brady against Chelsea and that was about five years ago.

How many fouls have they committed? Tierney doesn’t seem interested and a couple have been naughty.

That's what is so annoying, they are a poor side, but we've gifted them the lead, and currently we don't appear to have any hope of equalising.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 4:25 pmWorst bit of this is Newcastle are absolutely abysmal. It’s gonna be a long winter.

The saddest part of this is that I feel a sense of urgency/panic/need to win from Newcastle.
I don’t from us.

How much are we missing Tony Loughlin on the touchline? We’ve gone backwards ever since he left.

This is not a midfield problem it is a mentality problem we have proved this team can beat any team in the PL but they don't seem to have a plan - I will be the first to see it - Dyche needs to go

Shambolic & absolutely clueless going forward - get it wide and pump it in or pump it long.
2nd balls, forget that, our 2 central midfielders are 25 yards away from the box yet St Max still flies past them
4-4-2 has gone Sean - we're going down with these tactics!
How to destroy a young player, in Dwight, masterclass. Look at that first season when he came in and kept us up. Let's watch the videos and see what he did when he hadn't been coached by Dyche. Look at him!
