Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
I thought we played reasonably well up until the goal.
The issue is time and time again as soon as we concede it’s almost like we panic and just resort to long balls.
The issue is when you’re playing well or at least half decent and you’re still not getting results, when you dip below that it’s not often you’ll get anything. To much this season we’ve played well but not forced that into points on the board.

I’m getting a tad fed up with this repetitive reference to ‘the details’. What does that even mean? Make more chances and score a higher percentage of those chances? If so, why not say that? If not, then what?

I hope Sean can sign a Centre Midfield play maker
we desperately need otherwise we carry on playing long ball game and hope for the best .

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
It doesn't matter if we do get CM, we don't have anyone that can finish the creative play at the moment and if Cornet is out I'm struggling to see where the goals are coming from

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
won't make any difference whilst there are only 2 midfielders in there and we play 4-4-2. Our only options are long or sideways. There are no forward passes to play. If it is played on the deck to the front 2 who is there to support them? The other midfielder is lying deep near his partner, the wide men are wide-'ish offering some width. There's the other striker but he is usually up against another centre-half and at least 1 deep lying midfielder protecting them! No other option to knock it over the top into the channel. That's why we've done it every game this season as our main tactic! It ain't bloody working!

Confidence. We score first we win it comfortably. Two sides with fragile confidence.buzzclarets79 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 7:43 pmI thought we played reasonably well up until the goal.

I wonder what tactics another manager would use with these same players. Dyche appears to be under no pressure even after this awful run of so few wins. This means if he is happy with what he sees then we can expect the same tired tactics over and over again. His post match interviews have become tiresome so I don’t watch them anymore.

Not deluded (Miiltown) "his inability" is down to two years of lack of investment . We gave away Hendrick and brought in Dale Stephens and Drinkbeer. It shows in a midfield which can't hold its own, misplaced passes, lack of attacking pace, lack of service to the strikers.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 5:50 pmi would say that's fairly accurate. However, his inability to change our fortunes going forward over the last few seasons is pretty damning for him imho
His remarks accept that we have a major challenge in Premiership survival between now and May.

So far this season we're 15th for Goals scored. 14th for Shots on Target. 12th for Big Chances Created.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 5:50 pmi would say that's fairly accurate. The biggest hit to our season has been the 12 points dropped from winning positions. Scoring wasn't the issue there is was maintaining the lead. Easy to pin it all on the forwards but we can't expect them to keep dragging us back into games when we've been ahead, then drawing, then behind.
Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
We could have Messi and Mbappe in our team and our tactics wouldn't change. It's boring and it's predictable.
Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
Dyche isn’t one to rip into his players via the media. I do think though we need to bring in a central midfielder that can pass the ball forward and a strong mobile centre forward.

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
All fair points, but had we not had such blinding loyalty we would have different strikers who may convert more of those "big chances" and take some of the pressure off the defence. Either way, if we can't score more than one we likely won't win many gamesCombatClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 8:39 pmSo far this season we're 15th for Goals scored. 14th for Shots on Target. 12th for Big Chances Created.

At present yes because of our defensive issues. Seeing out a 1-0 used to be a key part of our identity.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 9:03 pmEither way, if we can't score more than one we likely won't win many games
Only 2 years ago there were YouTube videos being made on how good and well drilled our defense was.

Yet he has managed a team for consecutive seasons in the premier league while you……BigChaCha wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 6:12 pmI said a few years back that SD would coach the flair out of McNeil and I have been proved right. His trajectory has been on a downward slope for a while now. You have to ask the same of our other creative talents like JBG and Jay Rodriguez who have gone backwards under this managements stewardship. I struggle to think of many players that have improved their creativity or passing under SD but I can think of loads that have stagnated and in fact gone backwards! I have absolutely no faith what's so ever that SD will get the best out of Cornet either. He will coach out any creativity he has, out of him too!

Well Cornet having to come off when he did put us in some difficulty. I thought he would be our salvation for this season.

The defence is the same so what has changed? I’d love to see an analysis of then to now.CombatClaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 9:15 pmAt present yes because of our defensive issues. Seeing out a 1-0 used to be a key part of our identity.

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
That defensive unit depended on all 5 being on top form.
I don't think Pope is on absolutely top form (though I still rate him as a fine goalkeeper) and I'm not sure that we still have the discipline defensively in front of the back four.

Which bit is wrong? Whichever personal we have in the starting 11, the tactics never change.Bin Ont Turf wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 9:40 pmYou can have a go at the players and/or manager, but don't talk stupid.

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
Those remarks in post 1 are ones I agree with. The goal did change the game, and in Wilson they have the best striker. But we have to manoeuvre things our way, we can’t merrily crack on and wait for bad luck to hit. That is what we are less good at, making things happen. Cornet is the exception. Too many of our lot suffer from a lack of imagination and thus creativity, that includes the manager.
I tend to feel now Roberts is vital. He makes a lot happen. We need that desperately. At full back of course.

Re: Dyche Remarks on todays game
Thats exactly what the game was
Dyche can be bloody annoying at times, but he's a rarity in managers that he's doesn't pretend we don't see a different game
