Instead of buying a player

Post by Quickenthetempo » Sat Dec 04, 2021 5:54 pm

Instead of buying a player why don't we put that money towards the best technical coaching team we can buy/afford?

Coaches who will improve our passing and shooting are a must.

That's like getting the world's best dog trainer to train your legless dog to jump.

Its not a bad shout, but you need technical quality in a player to start with, so for one or two it would be a challenge

We have a few players that are more than capable, but I don't think this coaching staff have improved any player on technical sides of the game.

Because Dyche will still be the decision maker.
Totally uninterested in playing football.

A must not lose today, and he delivered that, then had a cheek to applaud the fans.

I'd have been disgruntled if we had won, it was thst bsd

We certainly do have players who are capable of playing a more technical game. Westwood, McNeil, Cork, Tarkowski, Taylor, Rodriguez are all far better footballers than they pretend to be when under their current instruction. Then there is Cornet, Roberts, and Collins who also look to have something to offer in terms of technique.

Whenever we mention this though, there are some that say our current system has brought us much success, so there is no reason to change it. Fair enough back then. Our 2021 has been woeful though, and success couldn't be further away if we keep playing such a rudimentary style of play on the evidence of the past year.

Something simply has to change now.

Probably better to simply accept the inevitable, get relegated, sell off for good money what people will pay good money for, get shut of the rest and start again. I honestly think (sadly) that's what it's coming to. ☹️

We could have the world’s greatest coaches but most of our players are just too limited at Premier League level.

Does Dyche coach? Or is that down to Woan and Stone?
I assume Dyche determines the tactics for each game and the team are drilled to achieve that plan?
I don't play FM so I haven't a clue how modern football managers operate.

Instead of buying a player, we should buy several.

But if we haven't got a coaching set up that improves players they will just fall by the wayside like past and present have.

Watching what we may call our development squad i have to say that better coaching is worth looking at.

Too many unrealistic views in my opinion. Very negative about our own team. If our management and coaching team are that bad how come we are still level with Newcastle and Norwich and within 6 points of 11th place in one of the best leagues in the world? We have whacked in 3 goals in each of our last 2 home games against teams who have supposedly progressive foreign coaches with pedigree. We have some talented players but are up against some majorly strong sides who have unlimited resources in terms of money and attracting the very highest calibre players. I’m not talking about one or two players and these clubs but a virtual squad of top quality internationals. I always thought we would fall short at Newcastle with all the hype surrounding their recent changes. We were up against it without our captain Ben Mee and then lost talisman Cornet to injury. JBG hit the post then Pope was unlucky to lose the ball prior to their goal. We didn’t get hammered - just one fortunate goal and that being the only one conceded in 2 tough away games this week. Always difficult in a run like this to see where the next win is coming from but we’ve done it before. Let’s hope we can regain the confidence before too long.

(With acknowledgement to The Daily Mash who did a similar story on Villa😊)

Sean Dyche not going to waste inspirational speech on these losers

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is to save his inspiring words for players who deserve them, it has emerged.
He admitted that attempting to motivate his current squad would be a waste of everybody’s time, unless he motivated them to seek alternative careers.
Dyche said: “With the right words, almost any player can become a winner, unless that player has ‘Burnley FC” written on their shirt in impossible-to-erase letters.
“I can’t tell them they’re too good to be relegated, because they quite obviously aren’t. Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Marcos Alonso are too good to be relegated, but unfortunately they don’t play for Burnley yet.
“Once I’ve bought them, I’ll tell them how their heroics will lift not just a stadium but a whole town. I’ll tell them how children will be named after them, how statues will be cast in bronze outside Turf Moor, how they’ll never have to pay for a drink in this town for as long as they live.
“But why would I say something like that to someone like Ashley Barnes? It’d be like pouring premium-grade petrol into a wheelie bin.”
