The actual race on track is a bit of a procession, but it is a very entertaining race with the collisions, Hamilton chasing down Verstappen.

If these two can pull out 25 seconds to Ocon they can pit and still be first or second.

Re: Saudi GP
This season has been spoiled by these curbs and overtaking outside them.
They should either tarmac everything between the walls and let them race OR
Paint everything outside the curb blue call it water and if you touch it you give up the place. Far too many incidents bringing different decisions at each race.

Don’t think Merc had told Lewis he was allowed to pass and max slowed and Lewis lifted and wouldn’t pass.
Think it’s a miss communication by Merc.
But max has now to let him past.

Max did nothing wrong, not his fault the communication between FIA and Merc or Merc and Hamilton is messing up. He slowed down to allow Hamilton pass, with plenty of room, and Hamilton went into the back of him.

Max paying the price of trying to run mediums for 35 laps. Can't now stop for softs for fastest lap as he will be behind Ocon due to 5 second penalty.

Re: Saudi GP
Nonsense. Max was ordered to give the place back and then didn't. He got a time penalty because of the advantage he gained and didn't relinquish, and then gave the place back anyway but by then he'd already got the penalty.
Max was a disgrace today.

Re: Saudi GP
Firstly, how is that circuit fit for F1?
Secondly, petulant and at times dangerous driving by Verstappen. He's lucky to have finished the race in second, but he showed his immaturity and hot-headedness today.
Driver of the day - haha!

Re: Saudi GP
You don't move around like that if you're giving a place back. Max caused so much unnecessary carnage. I love wheel to wheel racing, but he doesn't do that, he just brakes late and squeezes everyone. On this track he could have caused some real damage to someone today. If he wasn't so quick he'd be so unpopular he'd never get a seatclaretburns wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:49 pmHe slowed massively to give the place back and Hamilton went into the back of him, not Max's fault the communication between Merc and Hamilton was bad.

Re: Saudi GP
He left Lewis space on the inside and then moved towards the inside. He was definitely ******* around. I disagree with Lewis that he brake-checked him but what was that movement about? That was disgraceful.claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:49 pmHe slowed massively to give the place back and Hamilton went into the back of him, not Max's fault the communication between Merc and Hamilton was bad.
What he was trying to do (until that movement left) was let Lewis past and then go into the DRS zone behind him with DRS so he can try and over take him immediately, similar to how he tried a bit later before giving the place up properly.

I know it's tough for some people to understand but it's entirely possible that other people can disagree with you for actually valid reasons. Is this how you go through life, just thinking that anyone who disagrees with you much disagree with you for reasons others than you being wrong?tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:50 pmTell me you're a Hamilton fanboi without telling me you're a Hamilton fanboi!

If max has touched his brakes, he could get disqualified for dangerous driving.
In with the Stewards in 40 minutes.
As long as he didn’t brake he should be ok.

Re: Saudi GP
Max could quite easily have moved fully right or left and there wouldn’t have been a problem. He knew what he was doing. His own crew told him over the radio he’d been naughty.
Onwards and upwards. What a finale.
I hate the rules and regs of what is essentially a sport but what an entertainment.

Hamilton must be favourite to win the title now, Max looks like the pressure is getting to him as the climax nears, I guess that's the difference between a guy who's got 7 titles to his name, and a guy who's still chasing his first.

Re: Saudi GP
The sky pad shows them both going down the gears to slow down.
The confusion is Lewis did not know he was slowing to let him past.
Think the Damon Schy incident, if Damon had waited another corner he would have been world champion.

I believe the brilliant climax to the F1 season takes place at the same time as our game against West Ham. Do you think they'll put it on the big screens if we ask nicely.
