There wasn’t “an awful lot of dissent”. That’s a massive exaggeration

Oh stop it. We lost to a team who had not won a game all season, and it's December. They've not even looked like winning a game all season until we showed up today. It's not unfair to call out how awful the result was today, along with the response after going a goal down, when it leaves us looking as vulnerable to relegation we have done since we came back up in 2016.

As I've said many times before, this is a fans discussion forum. It's a totally different forum to the Turf. So this "shut up and get behind the team" stuff is irrelevant on this forum, as it makes no difference to the outcome of a game, unlike the atmosphere on a game. Therefore, it shouldn't be a surprise that people criticise on here but don't bring it to the Turf.
Some good points above, however the moaning and general negativity is painful on here.
Good discussion over shortcomings and what we need to do are fine.
Sacking manager (who is the best thing most have seen in our lifetime) , selling all our players, being the worst game ever seen etc etc are simply ridiculous and do need pointing out.
3 or 4 on this board ruin it.

Whose happy? I wasn’t saying there wasn’t any disappointed or frustrated fans, of course there was. But saying there was loads of dissent is ********. For that to have been the case, you’d hear loads of booing which there clearly wasn’t.

I mean we can all bury our head in the sand and pretend we're not shite if you want? will that make you feel better?

Lets pretend we haven't won 1 game all season.

I've got news for you, in football when your side loses fans don't like it, you probably aren't a real fan who feels that real pain.

I am worried and I am generally quietly optimistic person.

Plus we have several key players out of contract soon, the fight we had is not there.

There is absolutely no shame in feeling down and having a rant. Shows you care.

Look how many we have won this year, it is not good whatsoever, something is not right.

The players got the train back, it would have been interesting to know if anyone had anything yo say to them as walked through the station all smiles znd laughter.

I was absolutely furious at full time yesterday, I can't recall the last time I watched us where it looked like we didn't actually have a plan.

No plan, no creativity and no passion.

Have to admire the levels of hurt our fans feel, but agree we don’t take a blow well. All the fragility that they bombast the players for.
No fan takes a blow well, which with me being a realist, I have accepted that relegation is now more likely than unlikely. It means the impact to me in May will be less drastic, and I will still support the club just as much when we inevitably will be playing Championship football. Sadly its a way of protecting one's mental health. For a number of games SD's favourite quote of "we have been there before, and know what is required" has been going through my own belief, but sadly that is slowly evaporating. I am realising the unbeaten run of previous seasons, including a good smattering of win,s is simply not going to happen. Yes we might grind out some battling draws but there will be more games like yesterday where a mistake, a well taken goal, or a disputed VAR goal cost us all the points. The facts are there to see. One win only this season, and we have played a number of clubs traditionally at the lower end, and only two PL wins since early May. The quality of our forwards is of real concern-take out Wood and Cornet who is being used as a make shift forward, and combined, Barnes, Vydra and Rodriguez have scored 7 goals in almost one and a half seasons. Sadly these three have missed more than they have scored. Its going to take a minor miracle or a collapse from Watford, Brentford or Southampton which will salvage us.This is not me being negative, but being a realistic. I am not knocking the team-they have I believe been over performing for a number of seasons, however the lack of genuine quality and investment will eventually catch up with them. I hope genuinely I am wrong, however the facts and trends would indicate otherwise, and it wont stop me making the 340 mile round trip to next weeks West Ham game

Firstly I doubt anyone would have the nerve, bottle, whatever about them, to say something.
Secondly, and I can sense your frustration and anger, we did play ok until they scored. It's not all doom and gloom.

I'd have asked them a few questions should I have seen them, there's nothing wrong with asking questions if it's done in the right manner.

It would be interesting to hear their honest off camera views , they have to tow the party line on camera and say we created lots, we played well, we will be ok etc when everyone can actually see what actually happened.

Absolutely nothing amiss with the players smiling and laughing on the way home like a band of brothers . Would you prefer them to look like a ragtag bunch of misfits?

While some may think that everything is hopelessly lost with nearly two thirds of the season to play ( yes, seriously, two thirds !) many retain a great faith in Dyche , something that he has earned.

The time to start fretting is when he is having to make rousing speeches about taking the fight to our opponents. In the meantime let’s wait and see what happens.

This could be copied and pasted after every game we've lost in the past three/four seasons

Its two defeats in nine

Yesterday wasn't great absolutely no doubt but the relentless posting of stuff like this from some posters is just annoying

The big worry is though Lancaster, in that good spell we have been caught up by the two bottom sides in the league.
In good spells we need to get up the league.

Yes it does

But your credibility is absolutely shot to pieces because you post the same stuff after every defeat, wherever we are in the league

Look, whatever floats your boat and all that, but we are still one win away from not being in the relegation zone, and to be honest, with this league and where and what we are, to constantly moan about how crap we are has to be a wind up

£20 million on Jay Inc wages sounds far more dramatic then quoting just his transfer fee of £10 million.

That's how this game works isn't it??

The difference in the record stats is it appears this bad run isn't just a small blip and has been going on for considerable time.

Yes yes, I'm aware that there has been a shift in the agenda of some people which means including last season's results in an effort to make this season look worse than it actually is.

You're a Liverpool fan (your words not mine) simply on here to pass time and tit for tat argue. You even started arguing with yourself on your two profiles (GodisDeeJay81 and Sidney) in an attempt to convince god knows who, you weren't the same person.

Thing is, that doesn't matter

His point is sound

You are taking what you want to see out of our results, and ignoring anything that doesn't fit your agenda

I mean, there are plenty like that on here, but they normal stick to the political threads!

It doesn't really matter where the stats start and finish, you're either happy with it or not.
But "only lost 1 in 7" sounds a lot better than "only lost 3 in 9"

Who gives a sh*t ... he handed you your rear end on a silver salver so you bring up the old classic multi-poster reply ...

There are way way too many on here who stay silent when we win but are extremely vociferous when we lose (or even draw)

I tend to stay out of arguments like this but ... I find it hilarious when folk resort to stuff like that ...

A bit like Pushypinnypussy on Friday ... with his crack of "how can I possibly have a wife when I have posted 15898 times on here in 4 years" ... then he disappeared when he was reminded about pretending he was posting from Spain while actually still at home ... I wonder if he tries those arguments on the judge while defending his motoring offenders 😂

Someone contested the fact that he hasn't had money to spend !
It's madness, we are paupers in this division, we have been since he arrived comparatively.
Do you really believe he would choose ageing players to do his work on the pitch ?

Yes I do really believe that Dyche would choose ageing players to do his work on the pitch. It’s his modus operandi. That’s the players he wants/trusts

Its a bad run admittedly, but that's all it is. How can supporters dismiss previous achievements so easily?
It’s one hell of a bad run, we’ve been rank rotten throughout the whole of 2021, this isn’t temporary. The thing is most people could see this a mile off with his continued poor recruitment and reluctance to change well anything.

Past achievements? What’s that got to do with anything in reality? Past achievement don’t help us now, all
It does is taint judgement from people who just don’t want to accept the reality.

We were sh!te in a must win game against the worst team in the league.

Pope dropped a clanger. Tarkowski was back to playing 40 yard cross field balls into the crowd. The midfield were on a rinse & repeat cycle of sideways-backwards-hoof, our crossing was poor, our set pieces were abysmal and we managed one shot on target.

If we repeat that performance for the rest of the season we won't get 20 points. Something needs to change...players, formation, approach...something. I have no idea what it is but we are way beyond "small margins" and "fine details".

I don't think I've seen a worse team than Newcastle this season.

I understand your opinion and respect it. However I don’t share it. It was a body blow, but with two sides with fragile confidence the first goal was always going to be crucial at St James Park. We started on the front foot (I was not pleased to see Cornet up top) but for thirty minutes there was only one team in it, and had one of those half chances paid a dividend we would have won comfortably. We are in a trough, but I believe we still have enough to stay up, especially with a couple more additions I expect to arrive early in the window.

Only one team in it?

Newcastle had the best chance from open play in the game when there player was through one on one and Taylor made a wonder block/tackle

A world class tackle, full of commitment and beyond effort levels you could expect. An attack

Hear what you are saying, however after every game this season its been- "what if, what if", or "if only ...."

As they say, points make prizes, and goals make points". We never look like scoring, other than set pieces, and even the execution of these is declining. We are no longer capable of "nicking a game" sadly

Quite agree and it’s got to change. However, look how many goals we have conceded expecting a free kick to be given; they say these things even out, while I hope they do, I don’t think we can expect any help so we need to become more resilient. We need points and as usual we will manufacture a way of getting them. Yesterday was gut wrenching, but it was a battle not the war we lost.

And, we lost to an uncharacteristic mistake
Does not matter how we lost. The fact is we lost.

we are this season's Sheff United, close in most games but not having the quality to make the difference

Once again people fail to see the difference between posting on a message board and supporting the team at games.
Just because people post negative things on here doesn't mean they don't support the team.

To be a fan is to be concerned. I think those that like to point fingers on these concerned fans not attending games either don't attend themselves, or they aren't fans themselves without any concern for the teams position.

Get a grip and stop berating others. I'm not too worried yet, but I have the capacity to see why others are without sitting on some super fan high horse.
Stop the narrow minded hate and support you fellow fans.

Prior to beating Brentford could have sworn we beat Fulham towards the end of last season which was less than 33 games ago.
