Re: Mike Garlick
There is no doubt the previous board failed to back Sean with much needed squad improvements despite having earned millions from our time in the Sun.
The amount spent and Sean's use of it despite a few hiccups is amazing
The facilities are great and that is down to money invested but our present predicament is a direct result of lack of serious investment on playing staff under the previous regime, despite Sean pointing out the issues re numbers
Alan Pace backed Sean with 3 excellent signings last window and will back him again as we play catch up in our squad strengthening department.
Garlick and his fellow directors did great things in some areas but fell short in a crucial one, player recruitment .But they all made serious gains from their time as directors and will continue to benefit from Sean's efforts to make us successful despite whatever opinion they had of him .Make no mistake Sean is the reason we are still a Premier league club.

Re: Mike Garlick
Not really sure there is an argument as such. Everyone accepts he did a great job for the club initially, on the field an off. Then the investment stopped, particularly in the team, the cash levels increased and he took some of them and allowed the club to purchased through a leveraged buyout.
I like Pace, don’t get me wrong, and I still hold out hope that there is a plan that will allow “new money” (not debt) to be invested in the club. But being honest we’ve yet to see it and with the club roughly with the same team as in the previous 3 years, struggling at the foot of the table, it’s inevitable that fans will lament the lack of investment/ambition pre-takeover - and the reasons for it.

Re: Mike Garlick
If he had spent the money we had, instead of keeping it in the bank, knowing he was negotiating a deal to walk away with most of it in his back pocket, we wouldn’t be in this mess.
Guys laughing all the way to the bank why would he help us.
Custodian my arse.

We’re now reaping the rewards of Garlick’s last few years as Burnley chairman.
