Getting our derbies back
Getting our derbies back
One upside of a potential relegation (and I now rate that at about an 80% likelihood) is that we will get our games back against Blackpool, PNE and BR next season (unless god forbid, they make it out).
Must say I have missed them, so at least one thing to look forward to.

Another positive would be the lack of available streams for our games. The pain our games bring to those watching on TV and forcing them on here to have a meltdown maybe lack of availability would be a good thing for everyone

Slide a bit further, RandomC, we could renew our Ancient Rivalry with Stockport.

Re: Getting our derbies back
Agreed. Relegation would not be the end of the world as long if Dyche stays in charge. there could be a lot of interesting games, weekends away and, most importantly, wins.
I still think we'll come good and hit a decent streak .

Rovers are 4th and in very good form with one of the better managers in the league. If we do drop, that derby isn’t guaranteed.

It was great fun those few years after we first came back down when we were playing Rovers, PNE, Blackpool, Bolton and the Yorkshire sides regularly. I do believe we’ll stay up this season but I hope we get one of the above in the cup.

He's done, still is, doing a good job over at the Stable Yard.

Well, we either stay up and we’re happy, or we go down, beat them all and we’re also happy. As long as Alan is sensible I don’t think we’d struggle in the championship anymore. 6 years in the prem has given us a team capable of winning that league. Just look at Fulham, and they were absolutely dogshit compared to us last year.

We are losing half our squad and are in debt. As Tony said on another page I imagine financially we will be in a bad spot

A lot of money to be made with the bookies rating us just short of evens.

We would be screwed if we didn't bounce back. There's considerable debt to be serviced. Also, the current running costs are for an EPL setup - the cost-cutting would be eminence.

Would much prefer us to be in championship, which let’s face it is and always has been our level.
I don’t really care about the financial side, I watch the team not the accounts.
Would be a much more enjoyable match day experience if we got relegated for me

I would suggest you would care about the accounts if we did a Bolton/Wigan/ bury to a further extentclaret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 1:11 pmWould much prefer us to be in championship, which let’s face it is and always has been our level.

I'm not overly pleased with the way this season has gone, but we're 3 points from safety with a game in hand, and, more importantly, 24 games still to play, so it's hardly 80% chance of relegation.
8% maybe.

Just checking that people are aware that you can lose derbies as well as win them
Have I missed PNE, Blackpool and Rovers fans lording it over us?
Not in the slightest

Oh well lets hope for league 1 then. If some can't cope with losing to teams like we do now, not sure losing to the likes of Cardiff and Luton would be good for them.

I think League One is streamed as well, as well as League Two That EFL iFollow thing which you subscribe to and get to watch all your teams games.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 2:13 pmOh well lets hope for league 1 then. It's the same style of football played on TV as it is at the Turf. If you want people to stop complaining about how poor we are maybe it's the football that needs to change? I am fine with peoples opinions just offering some free advice, if you don't like something on tv, turn over. It almost sounds natural.
I don't watch any soaps I find them mind numbing, isn't that a better approach than watching them and then whinging about them ?

Re: Getting our derbies back
The best thing about the Championship was the competitiveness. Going into games with an equal chance, not being dominated possession wise. I’d look forward to that again.
Burnley (and Dyche) are absolutely set up for Championship football. Just a shame we don’t seem to be able to make that next step up like Wolves, West Ham etc. I know it’s a money thing but I thought that’s why we were bought. I’m starting to be of the belief that the new board don’t actually have any money. I also don’t believe Dyche is capable either. He is a magnificent manager at Championship level and has worked wonders keeping us up but could he cut it next level?
Sorry if it sounds a bit negative. Isn’t meant to.

Re: Getting our derbies back
If I could find something as funny as some of the meltdowns on here I would.
See there is a difference between us established already, if I could find something more enjoyable I would tune into that, you on the other hand would prefer to sit at home and get all angry at a football match you aren't even at rather than watch a different game that would make you happy,
Re: Getting our derbies back
I keep wondering how you expect me to watch a TV channel while I'm at the turf. I love Burnley, I've invested a lot and time and money into them, if I want to complain about what I'm watching I will, just as I will celebrate when we are playing well.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 7:54 amIf I could find something as funny as some of the meltdowns on here I would.

I presumed the fact you got so defensive when I have repeatedly said those who don't go to games yet do nothing but criticise should turn over the channel and watch something else was you putting yourself in that group.
