Really hope I'm wrong, but have a feeling this is just one Ashes too far.
How he's kept going this far with the level of performance is utterly remarkable.

I’m not sure he’s injured, I think they’ve just decided which 3 tests he will play in

Rumour another day/night test with the pink ball to be played after the Perth one not going ahead. He’s written in a column he was only going to play 3 of the 5 tests.

Sensible for him to play in the games where he is likely to be more dangerous.

It doesn't bother me too much, I think that arguably the bowling unit will be relatively consistent whichever lineup we choose (I'm not saying consistently amazing, I just don't think that if anyone of them was out it would be a big downer, though the pace of Wood is something different).

It's the batting department that worries me more and due to its fragility I'm not sure we're going to win a Test in this series. Hope I'm wrong.

If we planned logically then only one of Anderson Broad would play each test due to age/heat/fitness but it's hard to leave the most successful partnership of all time in English cricket out.

They said he had a slight thigh strain but wasn't injured.

No point in risking him as the weather forcast for Brisbane over the next days is certainly not great.

We don't need a stop start type of game as this is the last thing a bowler of his age needs.

Anderson and Broad, now 39 and 35, but what a partnership they've been. Between them they now have over 1,150 test wickets.

A rain affected draw probably wouldn't be a bad thing at all. Allows the players to shake off some of the ring rust and move on to Adelaide all square.

With the workload of Broad and Anderson likely to be shared through the series time for Robinson to make one of the slots his own permanently

Robinson will be a key part of any hopes we have.

He's tall so gets bounce, accurate, moves it a bit, has a good engine and is quick enough without being rapid.

Perfect for Australian conditions.

Just read on twitter the last place is between Broad and Leach.

If there is rain around and the pitch is a little green then Broad would be my pick. Even if it means the attack is a bit samey.

That’s a remarkable achievement. It’s not just about fitness but to maintain the motivation and dedication over such long careers is a real credit to both players.

Have they relaid the pitch at the WACA?

Don’t play there anymore, it’s a new stadium
