Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
No need for me to post any updates tonight with the game being streamed
Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Looking forward to this, a chance to see some players that aren't yet in the U23s. Hopefully goes better than the Wimbledon game last year.

I lost my stream after 21 mins.
Question: Is there a day in the year when there are no gales in Leyland?

Yes
My eldests team played in a Lancashire U14 Cup final and it was a lovely day!
(on tv for us as sadly he had to isolate due to someone on his bus catching Covid)

Very late goal. Good work by the 7. He looks dangerous. Very difficult conditions

Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Windy conditions are not helping, and a heavy pitch. still, nothing wrong with a 2-0 lead.
Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
2-0.
Conditions are really not easy for the teams. Fortunately the rain seems to have abated because the pitch is cutting up badly on this near flank.
Quite like the look of the young Bauress (only turns 16 in January if I heard right).
Walters looks handy as well.
The lad Sean Eataluku is too fast for the Luton defence.

That was the one then, Lancaster.
Who was your lad playing for?

Big influence on the game, our right-winger.

Yeah ok I googled him ..its SeanBuxtonclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:32 pmOk.
I admit it.
Wasn't sure how to spell his name.
Not sure if his first names Shaun or Sean.
Don't know our youth team.
His profile on our website says he's from Denton, plays down the right as a defender, or attacking midfielder......he's just switched to the left ??

Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Yes.
He's been all over, tonight.
My MoM. He's had a cracking game, despite the difficult conditions.
And as ECC said up the thread, Bauress had a decent game.

Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Oh, it was the Lancashire U14 Cup
His team (remarkably) got through about eight rounds before getting a bit of a lesson in the final
He was absolutely gutted about not being able to play though

We have a few bright prospects there.
How old are Couch and Bauress?
Trouble is that the failure rate from here to a professional contract is very high.

Played pretty well second half.
Enjoyed that.
Always good seeing a Clarets side live & winning.

I’m on my way home and shivering but that’s the first u18 game I’ve been to since March 2020. Awful conditions but really enjoyable.

Bauress looks a player for someone so young.

First time I’ve seen him and was impressed with him.
Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Echo the praise for Bauress and Etaluku, can't have been easy to dribble in those conditions / on that pitch but they both carried it well.
Think both Sassi and Leckie looked solid too.
Also, Waller is a bit of a wind up merchant, love it.

Re: ARTICLE: It’s cup night for the youth team at Leyland
Good performance in very difficult conditions. We stuck with it and had belief and we really didn't let them back into the game, although they were at fault for overusing the wind.
Well done to them all and I hope that McCullough recovers okay from that nasty collision with the hoardings.

I didn't know until five minutes ago but young Joe Bauress' father was a player. Gary Bauress played for Tranmere albeit seemingly for a short period.
Small article about Joe:
"Burnley youngster Joseph Bauress has been handed the chance of England honours.
The Clarets' midfielder has been invited to attend a selection camp for next season's England Under-15 side.
The Liverpudlian – who has been in Burnley's Academy set-up since Foundation Phase – will attend a four-day camp at Loughborough University at the end of July.
Joseph, whose father Gary was a professional footballer with Tranmere Rovers, is again expected to play at an older age next season as part of the Clarets' U15/16 squad.
And as well as training in the evenings, he will also attend the Academy's day-release programme to gain extra coaching time. "
