Vaccine passports at Premierleague grounds from this weekend
Here we go it’s happening.
What effect will this have on our attendances ? This is going to be catastrophic, there will be about 12k on.
There’s loads of people I know who aren’t jabbed and go on the Turf.
I’d say the CFS will be the most affected.

If it will help stem the spread of Covid great.
If it helps Burnley take three points great.
If it helps football continue through to the Spring great.

I imagine the crowd won't be that much different, there aren't enough tin foil idiots that will see the crowd drop to 12k

Big problem straight away with this is mine is on my phone and the app will require a decent signal to bring it up
I hope the it works better outside the ground than it does in it

The cynic in me suggests it's been thrown out there to help distract from the Xmas party shambles.

Plan B including work from home and vaccine passports will cost the economy £800m per week.
Can't see the rationale when deaths and hospitalisations are trending down. I'm jabbed and had Covid but won't show one in any domestic setting.

But if they do bring them in and you're sitting in the Longside Upper best get there early

Re: Vaccine passports at Premierleague grounds from this weekend
I think that's an absolute guarantee with the shambles that's come out (and still coming out, apparently there were three parties!!!).
However, I also feel it's the right thing to do, working from home especially seems entirely prudent when there are still a few questions to confirm over Omicron. There is no plus to working in an office in any case, we're on a rota'd attendance programme at BT and the offices are mostly empty anyway. It's serving no purpose. Vaccine passports shouldn't really make much of a dent in things either, the ones who have voluntarily chosen to not vaccinate themselves understood the sacrifices they were making to abide by their insane stance.

I’m actually a pretty docile, placid person Lancaster in general - this is the one thing i will be entirely outspoken on to anyone at anytime. I have good reason to on a personal level, that I won’t share here.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:12 pmIf that doesn't get them gunning for you Jedi then nothing will

Problem is once measures like this come in it's hard to see them being dropped.

If vaccine passports are needed. What is the quickest way of getting a paper one if you don’t have a computer or smart phone? And how long does it last?

You think that segregating people within society because of their different beliefs is the right thing to do? History suggests otherwisejedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:08 pmI think that's an absolute guarantee with the shambles that's come out (and still coming out, apparently there were three parties!!!).

Re: Vaccine passports at Premierleague grounds from this weekend
Doesn’t affect me either way but I find it weird that registered sex offenders can attend and even sit next to your son or daughter but unvaccinated supporters might be banned especially as the vaccinated can still catch and spread the Virus.
Will unvaccinated season ticket holders get refunds ? And will turnstiles open 12 hours early to avoid the inevitable delays !!

Thanks elwaclaret. So no negative test required for twelve months? Any ideas about the quickest way to get a paper copy anybody?elwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:23 pmThey have been saying annual vaccines are going to be required, so 12 months I would guess.

Re: Vaccine passports at Premierleague grounds from this weekend
Your best bet on such short notice is to ring your doctors as they will have evidence of your vaccination status
I know you haven't a phone, but the MyGP app is the way to go

Re: Vaccine passports at Premierleague grounds from this weekend
There is no historical context for segregation that is in anyway similar to Covid-19 vaccine uptake, it’s not racial or religious and therefore not something you are powerless to change - it’s a choice. If you choose to not take the vaccine, for whatever reason (barring a medical exemption, which to be clear is totally separate to how I feel) you must do so knowing that choice will infringe upon your civil liberties.
That was made quite clear from the start. It is pointless standing your ground on vaccination and also moaning when you knew what your choice would result in.

Perhaps I should have said. It’s not for me, it’s for my dad who is 86. Presumably only one app per phone/email? Or is there a way around that?

My Dad has a phone but texting is his limit so I’m sure I’ll need to sort him out.

It is a choice and my right. You don't agree with that choice but that shouldn't mean my civil liberties are infringed as you mention.People have enough information to make their own decisions and should be treated equally within society.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:29 pmThere is no historical context for segregation that is in anyway similar to Covid-19 vaccine uptake, it’s not racial or religious and therefore not something you are powerless to change - it’s a choice. You will just need to log onto the account twice and download the passport to your wallet. It will be valid for three monthsjedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Dec 08, 2021 2:39 pmThat’s helpful thankyou , wasn’t sure if that was possible.

Times now reporting that it will be passport or negative LFT and eluding to it being potentially spot checks.
