Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
My mum has had an operation so will unfortunately have to miss the game on Wednesday. Can I give her ticket to someone else or will there be a problem because the name on the season ticket will be different to the Covid pass?

I'm going to take a wild swing in the dark here and say
"Yes"*
*I mean, if it doesn't, then what is the point?

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I also wondered this. We have 3 tickets that we rotate depending on who can and can’t go in the family.
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I would guess not. Had to show mine twice at different venues ( not football ) and covid pass was needed at a outer cordon then tickets at entry point.

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
The answer must surely be yes but I would imagine that if your mum screenshotted her Covid pass and sent it to the other person then I imagine they would pass the level of checking that will be going on (assuming they are female anyway !)
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
Am I reading this correctly. Screenshot someone’s else’s pass using their season ticket? Please say I’m wrong.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 7:49 amThe answer must surely be yes but I would imagine that if your mum screenshotted her Covid pass and sent it to the other person then I imagine they would pass the level of checking that will be going on (assuming they are female anyway !)
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I would think it more important that the name on the Covid pass was that of the person showing it. It doesn’t really matter that it might be different to that on the season ticket. The aim is to ensure that every adult in the ground is fully vaccinated or has a negative LFT.

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
Thanks for all the replies. The person going on has their own Covid pass to show but the name on this Covid pass is different to the one on the season ticket. We’ll give it a try anyway and see what happens! Cheers

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
Don’t think so.
Imagine the Covid team will just check Covid passes, not your ticket as well. Or just let you walk past if yesterday is anything to go by…
Might have an issue if your Covid pass is in the name of Sandra though…

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I use somebody else's season ticket as well. I'm sure as long as you can show them a covid pass it will be fine.
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
Also, lateral flow tests are a waste of time as a form of entry simply because they are self reporting. Basically anyone can just quote the reference number on each test kit and say it was a negative result.
Totally pointless.

Will the Covid pass have to match the name on the ticket?
Considering the name on the ticket should match the name of the person carrying/using it as per the club's terms and conditions, then I'd safely say the Covid pass should match the person who matches the ticket...

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I have actually had this confirmed off the ticket office.
The covid pass and I.D only have to match. Not the season card. Due to work commitments, I cannot make the the next few home games so my brother in law will be using my card. The ticket office have confirmed this is fine to do in writing (email) and it will only be I.d against covid pass that will be checked.

That far too much common sense from the club to be correct

I arrived a bit last minute yesterday, but nobody was checking vaccine passports, nor were there many masks in evidence in the “communal areas”. All looks a bit “lip service” to me.

There's enough empty seats in the ground already. All I could yesterday was 'Your grounds too big for you' from the West Ham fans.
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I was approached before the game yesterday by one of the covid marshals asking to see my pass but in the same breath he said “ but if you haven't time it doesn’t matter “ !!! So all seems a bit pointless .

Surely - as in other venues, if you have your covid pass and photo ID, then it won't matter at all.
Covid passes without photo ID (that proves it's yours,) are basically pointless.

The terms and conditions though state the ticket holder is the only person who can use said ticket.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 12:22 pmIf they did contact the ticket office, they would get in touch with the ticket holder, who could tell them who used the ticket.

All the venues and sporting matches I've been where it is required, the covid check and ticket check have not been together. However i'm sure we had to show two things for the Liverpool match at the same time last season to get in the Bob Lord stand

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
What's the issue here?
The terms and conditions are clear.
So if you're lending a ticket to someone else, admitting to the club you've done so can lead to your season ticket being cancelled, especially during Covid, it's not really rocket science here.
As for the parties, not sure of the relevance, but I haven't been since January 2020, the same month my dad died and a few weeks before Covid became a thing, they're back on but I'm not going until this has calmed down a lot more.

I'm not recommending it..I'm just saying that the level of checking will not be very deep and my experience of peoples' antics at similar events means that this kind of thing goes on.

Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
I’m confused.
I thought tickets weren’t transferable and it was being cracked down on, and whilst we all do it no doubt, I am surprised that the ticket office would put something like this in writing if they are trying to discourage the practice.
(Irrelevant, but regardless of the T&C I disagree with the non-transferable stance, I view it that I buy a seat for a season, who sits in it should be up to me, just like if I buy a box for a season I can choose who sits in that).

Last week he tested positive for Covid, so he can’t make the Watford match (obviously he missed the West Ham game as well), but he has the season card. I went down to the ticket office this morning to explain the situation and see if anything good be done, so I could take his mum on. The lady was very helpful and said she would need to see an image of the card with the details on, then she would issue a paper ticket. My son sent me the image and the office printed out a paper ticket. Took me 5 minutes to sort out. Very impressed with the service and it was obviously a situation they have dealt with previously.

During a pandemic it makes more sense to let the club know someone else is using the ticket.
Re: Will name on Covid pass have to match season ticket name?
Some people are really overthinking this. I'll be absolutely amazed if the club turn anyone away for using someone else's season ticket.

It looks pretty clear that this is here to stay, so regular vaccination would make perfect sense
What I would say is that this is clearly a precautionary measure, and hopefully it turns out that the variant won't cause as much damage
But there isn't enough info yet is there?
