I've just had a DT Laws pepper steak pie, with their mushy peas, for lunch. Absolutely lush.

Clayton Park meat and potatoe pie with mushy peas and gravy in Swales's (Colbourn House) Cafe in Clitheroe is unbeatable

Aye, they were "torpedoes" in my home too- my mother used to make them. The type of pasty that was flat on the bottom with the "seam" running along the hogs back top, very pointy ends; shortcrust pastry rather than anything flakey.
