Re: Everton game postponed
BTW I salute Cardiff Rugby and St Mirren FC for showing what can be done when the will is there to play, shame that this will is sadly lacking in the PL.

Agreed ... if Squad players are in the squad surely they are good enough ... it stinks to high heaven to me and to everyone I talk to regardless of who they support ...

Re: Everton game postponed
We have 28 in our named PL squad.(Everton have 34)
I'm not sure we'd be happy with a team comprising so many "development squad" players

Isn’t it strange how we can’t learn which players have covid. Yet we can get an headline today.

I may be missing something here but if Villa found out at around 12.00 last week that they couldn't raise a team, how have they enough available for today?RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 9:36 amIsn’t it strange how we can’t learn which players have covid. Yet we can get an headline today.

Equally, why isn't Everton's game on Thursday already off?

Apparently Benitez has called in a specialist to get the "casualties " fit.

Vieira will also miss Palace's match at Spurs today, assuming it still goes ahead, which it appears it will.RammyClaret61 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 9:36 amIsn’t it strange how we can’t learn which players have covid. Yet we can get an headline today.

Dundee being forced to travel to Aberdeen today with a squad of 14 fit players including 3 goalkeepers, seemingly the SPFL is taking a much tougher line than the PL and EFL regarding the grounds for getting a game called off.

You understand we'd have to payout their contracts, don't you? And so would every other club. So what would be the financial benefit?ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 25, 2021 1:00 amNot just BFC, of course, unless we’re the only club who can’t get a game on. I’d just rather not have them sitting doing nothing for 6 months on their full salary. Doesn’t seem fair to me.
Doing it my way, we may even get to recruit some better players, IT.
But ignoring the payout requirement, why should the club's finances be protected but not the players? The clubs have benefited from sponsorships, TV rights, PL status, player image rights, and all kinds of things as a result of their contracts with these players, so why then should the clubs benefit from all the financial gains of those sponsorships while denying the people who got them those financial gains their negotiated share of that revenue?
