So who is the main striker replacing Wood? where are the goals coming from?
Perhaps one of the three mentioned today
But they won't be here for Tuesday, or possibly next Sunday, where as Carroll could be, then if we do sign someone else, he's an option from the bench

So you're suggesting signing Carroll and another striker, I can understand that more. I thought you were talking about banking the cash and replacing Wood for Carroll.

I’d absolutely have Carroll as an option from the bench, but he simply cannot be our main starting striker.

It’s got to be Carroll and another coming in this month.

I just named 3 strikers better than Carroll who would jump at the chance to come here.

It's almost like you have been asleep for years, why do you think we're so awful right now? buying old shite squad fillers and under investment, Carroll is an old shite squad filler and a sign of under investment
Yeah but we spend biggish dosh o n players who don't really improve us much at all.

I'm not optimistic we will be able to bring in anyone we would really want long term in the 14 days we have left. Carroll might not be the signing any of us really want but if he is free and provides cover (and isn't completely unproven at this level like those you mention) and is gone in 5 months it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Rather that than she'll oit 20 m for vydra mk2

Cole Stockton, Ross Stewart, Scott Twine are 3 from League One who are better than Carroll.
Are you sure - he is playing in a league higher and scoring. could they step up ?

I would expect Carroll to win more in the air and hold the ball up far better than Wood ever did

Ended the window a little disappointed, felt we were 1 short of making a reyt good go of it.

We're an absolutely different animal right now, Weghorst has transformed this side. We were absolutely doomed with Wood, now we can hope and believe, an most importantly, I can now enjoy my team playing football again regardless of what happens!

It’s like having an extra midfielder and a half decent defender with how he performed tonight!
Well impressed with the lad!!

magic what an injection of energy does to a side, I don't know if Wood was a bad apple but soon as he's left the whole team started running again. He was playing like a lazy bad apple to me.

It's not often I agree with you but absolutely spot on. There isn't a cat in hells chance Wood could have put in the performance(s) Weghorst has put in since arriving. As you say, he's lifted this side. Everyone has found extra energy and you just have to feel it is down to Weghorst. I'm still pinching myself that we managed to land him!
