Midget Gems
Are to be no more - name offensive to a Scouse Uni professor with dwarfism. More products to be renamed, according to telly.

Yorkie - it’s not for girls
Re: Midget Gems
I thought it was only M&S renaming them to mini gems, fairly sure you’ll still be able to buy politically incorrect midget gems from other suppliers
Re: Midget Gems
If you have an MG Midget does the badge have to be removed so it doesn’t offend someone ? Do you have to call it something else when you book it in for a service in case the guy at the garage is less than 5ft tall.

Re: Midget Gems
No mate you can still get them, we used to buy the big boxes from Oswaldwistle mill, if you get the football ones from Tesco they’re Lions as well. The Maynards are rubbish but I have them every now and again.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 8:26 pmI thought Lions were bought out by Maynards the midget gems and sports mixtures went ****?

Lions fruit salad are good as well but obviously the blacks aren’t liquorice.
Arguably the biggest fan in the world I eat them at least once or twice a week and have all my life.

I do believe this madness period we live in currently will pass eventually. It has to. It can't keep on, on this trajectory. Eventually we will look back at this time and shake our head (like some are already) roll our eyes and think that **** we got real.

I ran into the back of some bloke last week near ASDA.
A dwarf got out and said “I’m not happy!”
I said “which one are you then?”
I’ll get me coat.

Re: Midget Gems
I believe it's only M&S who have changed that name to "mini gems".
M&S lately have been really bending over for the "woke brigade" ("preferred pronoun" badges for staff; "an inclusive lingerie range inspired by the global conversation on racial inequality following the horrific death of George Floyd).
My forays into M&S in the past 10 years have been solely for thermal undershirts and briefs but I've concluded that most of their (non-food) customers are older/less trendy types (M&F). Its difficult to see that giving into to woke extremism plays well with this group.

Re: Midget Gems
Best marketing MS has done in years… it was even talked about on question time, someone is in for a promotion. That they had a peg to claim on the ‘new world’ table, Maggie Thatcher would be spinning.
As for me I rarely ask for them so no one will see that my eyes still see a midget gem, just like they still see Marathon when I see the wrapper and opel fruits… which I cannot even remember the name of.
