Re: Newcastle v Watford
0-0 at the break, Trippier and Wood heavily involved going off the updates.
More of the same 2nd half will suit us fine, it's the Norwich score which is proving a real downer thus far.

Should change his name from Wood to Floppy

I actually think that the media has been very surprised by this transfer. Few that I’ve heard or read have thought he was a signing of great merit.

I've come to accept that throughout the season you'll get the odd result that throws a bit of a spanner in the works. Today is one for Norwich, like it was for us away at Chelsea.

Re: Newcastle v Watford
I agree it was a surprise, including from our own players according to certain social media posts. But so far it's been Wood this and Wood that, the saviour, the messiah, the missing piece of the Geordie Jigsaw whilst forgetting that 7 or 8 of the remainder of this side are absolute dogsh*t.
Mind you Eddie has taught him to stay onside for a whole half!

Re: Newcastle v Watford
Norwich a great score so far. Keeps Everton 8 ahead of us with our two games in hand and them to come to us with that away record.
Anyone fretting over Norwich winning should look at their odds to be relegated and remember we have to finish above three sides, not one. If one side (Newcastle most likely) surge clear, we have to pull one more in.
Using the same logic a draw and then a Watford win my preference at St James’.

Re: Newcastle v Watford
Wood is having a stormer
This is what we have had out if him for the last few months.
Nothing apart from him apparently being very good at holding the ball up ? I beg to differ crap at that as well.

Everton are definitely in the relegation mix. Rafa won’t be worried as he has a job lined up on Tyneside at the end of the season

Offside, Newcastle United. Jamaal Lascelles tries a through ball, but Chris Wood is caught offside. Surprise, surprise

The ref is Tierney, the worst of a bad bunch, no way are Watford getting anything from him.
Would love a leveller but can’t see it.

I'd agree. Lost count of the fouls Newcastle have made in the centre of the park and haven't been punished for.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 4:27 pmThe ref is Tierney, the worst of a bad bunch, no way are Watford getting anything from him.

No according to the table we're worse. Thankfully we have lots of games in hand, and we might well need them.

Re: Newcastle v Watford
My wife talks a lot more sense than me at football and says that goal difference determines who is the worst side, the table can otherwise be influenced by a bit of luck.
On that basis there are 5 worse sides than us, and I think that’s about right apart from those daft errors we’ve been doing (and yes, if we continue doing them, I’ll disagree with the Mrs and say we deserve to drop).
Great Watford leveller btw, we have 4 more home games than Newcastle to come
