Ah! it's the service again, well if he can't get decent service from the likes of ASM, Fraser & Trippier he going to struggle isn't he.
Nothing to do with the fact that he can't hit a barn door at this moment, good long may his drought continue.

I take it you didn't watch it then
Nope! just followed the text commentary on the BBC, they seemed impressed by Trippier, less so with Wood.
You've only just noticed this 21 points lost from winning positions that's more than 1 a game, and if EH or whoever succeeds him when he gets potted soon can't solve that issue they'll struggle to climb the table.SouthamptonClaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 4:59 pmGreat result for us and good to see Newcastle can't hold a lead
Does however mean we have this window to find 2 or 3 to really improve us.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 4:59 pmWith Norwich winning 3 games now, hate to say it we are the poorest side in the PL however you dress it up. Games in hand for us mean sadly very little with us averaging just over half a point a game this season.
Tripper was probably their best player, but they didn't create one decent chance all game (aside from the goal). Wood was typically static, but they didn't give him much. ASM was pretty poor for most of the game, but he's their version of Cornet...he can make something happen when the rest of the team are stale, so yeah I agree, without him they'd be in trouble. After spending so much, I don't see them being much better than we are
It can't be too difficult to find a better striker than Rodriguez, a better wide player than JBG and an upgrade on Jack Cork.
They aren't much better than we are, and even when they beat us in December it was due to an uncharacteristic error from Pope.Belial wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:33 pmTripper was probably their best player, but they didn't create one decent chance all game (aside from the goal). They haven't looked it...although when both Wilson and St Max are available, they have always looked that bit better. Fortunately, it's rare the pair of them are available together, as agree with you they're nothing much otherwise. I think that's 11 games where they've gone in front and not won, and like you, I'm not sure Eddie is the man that can change that mentality. The fans are already becoming restless as they're demanding almost instant improvementtiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:47 pmThey aren't much better than we are, and even when they beat us in December it was due to an uncharacteristic error from Pope.
And just like us they only have a solitary victory to their name, and only 1 clean sheet I think, which of course was against us.
And as other posters have noted they can't see games out. so I'm not as convinced as some posters on here that Newcastle are certain to pull clear, and Wilson being out for at least a couple of months is a massive blow to them.
The pressure cooker will only grow for Eddie Howe the longer they remain in the bottom 3, and I'm not convinced he's the man for the job, what they need is someone who'll grind out results until May, when they can then really start transforming their squad, which I've no doubt they will.
Given our home form over 2 seasons, that is a worry
They didn't even create the goal, it was a defensive mistake followed by typical individual brilliance from St Max.Belial wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:33 pmTripper was probably their best player, but they didn't create one decent chance all game (aside from the goal). Yes, and what was good about it was that Wood made the initial error that led to the goal, ha ha.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 9:51 amThey didn't even create the goal, it was a defensive mistake followed by typical individual brilliance from St Max.
Since when has Cornet been on Saint maximans level?Belial wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:33 pmTripper was probably their best player, but they didn't create one decent chance all game (aside from the goal). He hasn't, he's waiting for ASM to raise his game to his level.

Do people like you actually believe your own bullshite. It couldn't have gone better for Cornet in terms of his own contribution...to the extent that it's virtually impossible for him to sustain that.
Both have had their injury issues, however this season stats are as follows.
You need to score v city to be a top player now?Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:05 pmI like Saint Maximan as a player but I don't think he has reached Cornet's level of anything.
4 goals in 19 league games this season is his highest return.
I don't think he has played champions league or scored against City in the later rounds?
He's injury prawn cocktail laddy.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 1:15 pmYes, Cornet has a big influence for us, but he's not injury prone either.
I'll add a lool just so I seem edgy like you.
I'll be surprised if we've played 19 games since he signed. But that's irrelevant to your ridiculous inference that he hasn't had sufficient impact since he signed for us.
Yeah...so where's the comparison of Cornet's ability vs St Max's?
He single handedly kept them up last year let's see what cornet does when he's not injured.
We've already seen what Cornet does when he's not injured...

Last season though...

Season before was a similar number of games.
Clearly he's a crock using your system
