He’s been given an impossible job. But surely the time is right now to part ways.

I'm curious how has he been given an impossible job?Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 5:05 pmHe’s been given an impossible job. But surely the time is right now to part ways.
And from memory they've garnered 6 points from 12 games, which is even worse than Burnley have acquired in the same period, so how Rafa survives I really can't imagine.

Re: Rafa
Couldn’t really sign players due to FFP.
A team that was already underperforming.
One of the fanbases in the country that turns on its manager the quickest.
It’s an unusual club.

Re: Rafa
Their new ground will look good in Div 1 .
Re: Rafa
They'll have a new manager just in time to play us no doubt..
They do like to change managers quite a lot.
I'm not sure what they expect, they've always been also rans, best of the rest type teams, but they've been left behind for even that slot in the last half a dozen seasons.
They sign crap players and play crap football

They are most definitely an unusual club.
Spend millions every year, serious millions and for what? Stagnation.
And their fans are amongst the most deluded anywhere. They think they should be in the CL every year! Actually, maybe they should considering what they spend.

Lampard couldn't sign players at Chelsea in his 1st season but he still got them playing to a decent level.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 5:50 pmCouldn’t really sign players due to FFP.

And if a team is underperforming then surely it's the job of a new manager to improve them, if anything Everton have regressed under Rafa.
He always faced a poisoned chalice at Goodison, and in a similar way that Utd haven't got over Fergie leaving, then Everton haven't moved on from Moyes leaving, and at some stage Burnley may well face a similar problem after Dyche moves on, this can always be an issue with a long-serving manager.

They’ll give him a 4 yr deal, that’s what you do when you can’t win a game of football isn’t it….

Re: Rafa
He was very unlucky to lose DCL for the first half of the season but they don’t appear to be playing for him and that’s the time for a change. The protests have possibly got through to the team.

Re: Rafa
Nice, decent, honest guy, but not really a very good football manager, especially if he can't access shed loads of cash! And even when he can he doesn't spend it particularly well. One of more than several ridiculously overrated managers who have made and banked a fortune out of mediocrity. (Champions league being a real fluke of course! )

Re: Rafa
The only question with DF is his temperament, he’d be worse than being in with Sir Alex in his prime… can managers get away with it these days? Of course on the flip side, he did a decent enough job caretaking last time and he certainly has the passion for the club that would get the club united in an instant.

Re: Rafa
Agreed Tiger, however Derby’s financials are a mess and Rooney is on big money there. Compensation plus Rooney off the books helps Derby’s finance and gives Everton a lift. Lampard goes back to Derby, so everyone happyish and the Media start talking about Rooney using Everton as a stepping stone to the Utd job.

Sign Digne because he fell out with Rafa and replace him with an inferior player and then sack Rafa

He's lasted just 6 months, a hiding to nothing, but if you measure everything by money, then what a fabulous decision it was.
