Regardless of his contract situation we really need Mee to be playing if we are to have any chance of remaining in the top league.
It’s his central defensive partner who needs putting on the sidelines because I don’t think he can be trusted to give the 100% we need.
Agreed

Not at coaching.

Even the enigmatic Joey Barton and his more prosaic teammates, Michael Duff and Graham Alexander, have had to start in the lower leagues.

I was answering a specific comment which said "coaching" at a lower level, which I don't understand.
Surely a footballer who has spent so long at PL level could coach for a PL club?

Hmmmm. As someone else said further up the thread - let's see these words on the pitch then because be was as bad as Tarkowski against both Leeds and Huddersfield.

If Gibson were still here I'd be starting him.

Ben has had a rough few years by anyone standards. I am hugely impressed how he has tackled his lot with fortitude and all the while tried to keep focused on his job of work. If Ben Mee decides he wants to stay, it would be welcome news to get him signed up, because what we need is the positivity Mee brings with him on and off the pitch. I expect there will be a very different attitude now the ‘saftyzone’ kid has left the building.

Interesting point there. Seeing as we have hardly played much since Wolves do you think Wood was bringing the camp down a bit hence the recent poor performances?

Wood going will galvanise the team. We need reinforcements but we will prevail.

I think it is a reasonable assumption. The camp has been down and the body language has hardly improved despite our up turn in form, and out of his own mouth Wood has more or less admitted he wasn’t giving his all. Others may make 5 but it looks like 2+2 to me.

A proper decent lad. You would have to be a bit weird to dislike him

Thought this was excellent.

But slightly worried they read like farewell comments :?

I want Ben Mee to stay untill he retires.

I see that as a man sharing out the good stuff.

When Ben Mee speaks, I think we’d all do well to listen. He leads and he inspires.

Top man. Proud he’s our captain.

a class act and one of my favorite players for quite a while now. He can easily have a relegation clause in the new contract about release and a figure attached, should we be relegated.

I would also think that one of three coming up would be willing to take him for a certain fee, for a year or two more in the PL.
