So is the Watford game on ?
Or is Covid still an issue?
Re: So is the Watford game on ?
it would be nice to know in advance, at least by mid day Monday
Re: So is the Watford game on ?
If I was a betting man I would gamble on it being off. There needs to be a statement however, by tomorrow lunchtime if it is off before people like me start wasting money on travel arrangement and finishing work early etc.
Re: So is the Watford game on ?
Whatever the decision it needs to be communicated tomorrow and not left until the day of the game. No excuses.

Re: So is the Watford game on ?
Really random way to look at it but the pie order from Hollands hasn’t been cancelled.
Mate of a mate works there and before precious postponed games they’d cancel the pie order but Watford hasn’t been cancelled yet
It was cancelled before the Everton game

Well if he is on the early shift tomorrow you might be one of the first people in the know on the status of the game?

That will be good to know! I don’t want to be told as I pull into the main car park in Burnley two hours before kick off having travelled up from Cornwall with my mate Darren.

The people most impacted by postponements are the fans.
The people with the least visibility are the fans.
We're left trying to work out what's going on by delayed press conference times and pies orders. FFS, it's a shambles.

I’m sure Dyche will want it postponed and there must be ‘creative’ ways and means to ensure that it is.

So, no formal cut off time. Which in itself is crazy, though accept the Dep of Health regulations influence things.
I am a supporter of playing things safe, but regular comms needs to work alongside this.

Re: Any idea what time we will find out about Tuesday's game?
Dyche must be desperate to play as it’s a genuine home 6pointer which could keep us “ alive” rather than cut adrift with huge fixture backlog. There’s a break after Arsenal which we don’t wanna be dead n buried by

This is top notch insider info. Who’d have thought the pie man would provide a better line of communication than the club.

Re: Any idea what time we will find out about Tuesday's game?
The break gives us two Saturdays, since we're both out of the Cup, on which we can play Watford. Surely we'd be better off trying to get tomorrow cancelled and rescheduling for one of those dates?
Re: Any idea what time we will find out about Tuesday's game?
We need to have Cornet back and a new centre forward in place. Could we not threaten a fans’ ‘Pie boycott’ ?

For what it’s worth the Watford team coach is parked up at TM. Just seen it

I hope it's on. Watford have done a fair bit of travelling in the last few days. It could be a good time to play them.

Assuming they will have come after the Newcastle match as opposed to traveling late back down to London then training for a day before the journey back up?!

Re: So is the Watford game on ?
Most teams fly these days, so likely went home. (Easy from Newcastle.) The coach and driver probably stayed and would pick up the team from Manchester airport for Tuesday's game.Rouwens_Weapon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 12:39 pmAssuming they will have come after the Newcastle match as opposed to traveling late back down to London then training for a day before the journey back up?!

Or maybe it’s just the way I’m reading it
Burnley and Watford are preparing to play
Tuesday's rearranged Premier League fixture
as planned
- despite uncertainties over the
fixture because of a COVID-19 outbreak at the
Turf Moor side.
The Athletic understands that Burnley are still
preparing for the fixture to go ahead but a late
postponement request could yet be made
dependent on the outcome of a further set of
COVID-19 test results on Monday.
It is thought that Burnley had only 11 players
in training on Thursday and Friday, with
manager Sean Dyche isolating following a
positive COVID-19 test.
His assistant, Ian Woan, took charge of the side
during their 2-1 defeat by Huddersfield Town
in the FA Cup third round on January 8.
Watford are still keen for the Burnley match to
go ahead, despite it being scheduled in
between two key games against relegation
rivals - the 1-1 draw at Newcastle United on
Saturday and the visit of Norwich City on
Friday. The Hertfordshire club are still
intending to travel to Burley this afternoon
rather than change their usual plans.

I imagine they're pretty keen to play knowing what sort of side we'll have available.

Re: Watford game potentially off
You beat me to it, so I deleted my thread; just hope the Premier League play ball and postpone.
The only thing worrying me now is getting all the games in and complete by the end of the season; there is going to be one hell of a backlog.

Any chance this is the straw that broke the camels back and they don’t allow us to postpone it…

They do this and they will have to do the same to Arsenal Liverpool etcBurnleyareback2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 2:38 pmAny chance this is the straw that broke the camels back and they don’t allow us to postpone it…

Re: So is the Watford game on ?
We've applied for a postponement. Apparently
Re: Any idea what time we will find out about Tuesday's game?
I think that pretty much confirms it. Much as I am itching to see a game of football I don’t mind paying Watford back for doing it to us initially. They would be up for this after the draw against the mighty sleeping giants on Saturday. The whole postponement thing is a farce though, especially highlighted by the Spurs v Arsenal postponement yesterday.
