Hope they told Holland’s, they can pull the pies out of the oven.
Judging by the state of them they will probably leave them on a high heat until next home game

Having allowed so many Clubs to postpone, it would be difficult for them to refuse
They have turned some down previously and I wonder if they will take into account that our u23s are playing tonight.

Would we be allowed to postpone our U23 game tonight in order to have to play tomorrow?

It’s all got rather ridiculous, shouldn’t be playing the u23s

“ Burnley Football Club can confirm it has made an application to the Premier League for the postponement of Tuesday night’s match at home to Watford.

The decision was reluctantly made to submit the application due to a high number of injuries and Covid-19 cases within the squad.

The Premier League Board will meet later today to review the application and inform both clubs of its decision. ‌”

Arsenal 23s played the day before (or 2 days before) their fixture against spurs.

From Sky:
Burnley have made a request to the premier league to postpone tomorrow’s game against Watford.
Insufficient available players due to injury and/or Covid-19 cases within squad…decision will be made later today!

It’ll be chaos at the end of the season when all the matches are supposed to kick off at the same time and clubs are trying to get games postponed.

So we all know from the results this season that we've not been good enough on the pitch. Now we're not even good enough to actually step onto the pitch.

It is not impossible for us to put a team out - whether that's u20-whatevers or senior players. It is a disgrace that we want another game postponed. Just like Saturday was a disgrace too. When will we see our team again? When will we stop being scared to go onto the pitch?

I have a funny feeling this will be rejected after the ridiculous outcry of us daring to have one game called off the other day by the likes of Matterface and Durham.

I just don’t understand how this is possible? Surely everyone that was missing vs Huddersfield is back now. Unless the other half have all tested positive

Why was it a disgrace on Saturday? Was that worse than the three games ruled out because of the opposition?

All getting very very boring very very quickly now this rubbish. Not just Burnley the whole thing in general. Injuries or AFCON should be nowhere near the thinking when games are being considered for postponement.

I fully agree with you, but it felt a conceited media campaign against us when the Leicester game was postponed. It was particularly interesting considering the way we have been adversely affected by postponements previously against teams with all their best players unavailable (Everton and Watford specifically). Barely a word said then.

Where have I said it was worse than the opposition postponements? These games could have all been played - there are enough players at all clubs that can be put on the pitch and play a football match. Cancelling games 2 hours/a day before/2 days before all the time is cynical and has completely ruined this season. As a football fan who wants to actually watch matches that I have paid for it is a disgrace how we're being treated by all these clubs. Including ours.

Matterface said it was a “joke that we hadn’t ‘Planned for Wood going’ someday with that clause in his deal and not got a new signing through the door” and then went off on a totally irrelevant tirade about ALK’s ownership.

Durham was questioning why we are asking for games to be postponed when we chose to sell Wood for £25m making our numbers ever smaller. He was reminded it was a release clause (which he didn’t believe) and then, again, asked why we hadn’t signed a replacement in the 3 days since we sold him.

From what I understand Covid tests were done this morning and presumably this request has been made following a batch of positive results.

That's about the only positive thing coming out of the club at the moment. :x

If they allow Arsenal to call off a game because of 1 covid case and Everton to call a game off because some of their players slept awkwardly, then they have to allow our request

It’s a bit hard to have a contingency plan for a striker leaving without any notice at any point during a long term contract. No club, Burnley or otherwise, can turn around a replacement Number 9 immediately. Things aren’t that simple.

Is it only me that is disappointed in the Club for this?

I just hope we are doing it for the right reasons (Covid) and not injuries and player sale.

Frankly, seen as plenty of clubs are taking the **** with this (in Everton and Watford’s case - to our detriment recently), I couldn’t care less.

If you can’t beat them (and let’s be fair, we can’t beat ANYONE), then join them. If this allows us to face Watford with Cornet and a few new signings then that’s fine by me.

Covid testing of players was supposedly done this morning so you could always ask to see the results. ;)

Or just get the eSports guys to play the game out.

But they have to use the teams actual players, non of this signing in Mbappe/Son/Ronaaldo nonsense and play for a full 90minutes
