Looks like we'd a bad start?
Conceded 2 in the first 10 minutes.

Any improvement?

We've still got a lot of work to catch up in our youth development.

A bit of a mis match in teams I'm afraid.

I suppose it's not unexpected.

That may be so, but you also have to realise the Liverpool are going to be one of the 4 or 5 strongest outfits in the country even at U18 level. It was always going to be an extremely tough game.

Oh! well at least we scored a goal. And our youth system won't reap rewards overnight, even the fact that we're now at Cat 1 status doesn't mean we're remotely on an even footing with these big city clubs,

But compared to only a couple of years ago we are making progress, and eventually we'll reap dividends, we just need to remain patient.

I fear we may always be "feeding on scraps" once the big clubs have scooped up the best young players.
Not a lot we can do about it, being so close to Manchester, Liverpool.... oh, and Leeds.

They haven't produced many premier league players for 30yrs worth of being a top academy.

We could probably get a few players in the team if we played in league one and then the championship.

Will take another 2-3 yrs staying in the prem to attract enough younger early mid teen talent to start to get closer to the level of other cat 1 academies down the line . Being top dog in Lancs and north and much of West Yorkshire has certainly put us above the academies like Preston /Blackburn/Bolton and of course above the Rochdales/Oldhams/Stanley/Blackpool/Fleetwoods et al
