Liverpool hotels

Post by CaptainKirk » Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:28 pm

As the font of all knowledge, I thought I would ask you all for recommendations for Liverpool hotels for a birthday treat, possibly with a spa section?
Any ideas gratefully received.

Always stay at the Titanic on Stanley Dock I think it is. Massive rooms, brilliant nights sleep as you don’t hear a thing, couple of miles to the centre and the spa is highly rated, although I’m not really into that.

Up to a season or so ago the visiting teams playing at Anfield and Goodison stayed there.

Think me and the Mrs have been there about 7 times now..love it..

Party Pad near Goodison Park. No spa section but most definitely a treat

The Marriott was nice a few years ago with a great tapas place next to it.
Right in the centre.

Big difference in price when I went Fri night was 65 and Saturday night was 185.

A lot of people prefer to rent apartments though that go regular. Plenty of choice.

I would second the Titanic recommendation. Stayed there 3 times. Rooms are massive and full of character as you would expect from the location. Beds are super comfy and last time we stayed I took a photo of the label on the luxury mattress topper they had on the bed and purchased one as soon as we got home. Only downside is the 15-20 minute walk into City Centre but taxis are plentiful.

I had already mentioned the Titanic to the Mrs and said let’s see what fellow Clarets come up with!
Decision made, I believe.
Cheers.

Titanic is nice but quite a way out of town. If you want something more central, I’d suggest Hard Day’s Night.

Hard Day’s Night, strange name for a hotel. I guess don’t stay there if you are after a good night’s sleep.
A game for visitors walking round Liverpool would be to score points for every Beatles reference you see. I think it would be high scoring.

Last time I was at a pub in Liverpool, it was quiz night but unfortunately I got drunk before it started. Just for a laugh, I answered each alternate question The Beatles or Steven Gerrard.

I came second!

A more challenging game would be spot the Everton scarf

We stayed in the Shankly last time we were there (a couple of years ago)
I don't think it has a spa, but there was a whirlpool bath in our room. It has a decent restaurant and is a stones throw from the center
