Thanks. I was probably there but I’ve long forgotten most games. Why did Harvey Lim become a folk hero ?
Re: ARTICLE: Back to the top with a Conroy hat trick
I hope Lim’s outfield performances in Whistler we’re much better than when he tried to play outfield as a goalie. He must have wandered out a good number of times in that game trying to get involved and take players on. Fortunately for us he did it one too many times!

My first ever game, bought that home shirt at the market off Peter Noble with my Dad. Then went on the Longside and the rest is history

Re: ARTICLE: Back to the top with a Conroy hat trick
had to check that he was still there in Whistler - not surprised that he wanted to play out of goal given his performance at Burnley.
Conroy's performance that day reminded me of one from Willie Irvine against Northampton back in 1965 when he missed a series of outstanding chances and went on to finish with a hat trick.

Wasn't he playing CB for Reading when we bought him?

I don’t think he was playing up front for them

I seem to remember he played left-back at Reading.

"Chris Pearce, Ian Measham, Joe Jakub, Steve Davis, John Pender, Andy Farrell (Adrian Randall 50), Steve Harper, John Deary, John Francis, Mike Conroy, Graham Lancashire (Mark Yates 86)."
Not a bad side when you look at it with Adie Randall coming on as sub. None of those players let the club down albeit Graham Lancashire didn't fullfil his potential.
Johnny Francis had a bit of pace to add to Conroy's height. Seems like a lifetime ago now.
