Premier League are investigating Arsenal over suspicious betting patterns regarding a yellow card they received.

Have always thought spread betting Throw ins, corners, yellow cards etc is open to abuse ... we always joke about the 1st throw in at games because they are regularly within the opening 15 seconds of a match

Listened to Neil Shipperley on Under the Cosh podcast he said when he played for Southampton a few of the players including Le Tissier planned to fix it so the other team got the first throw in inside 10 secs, the plan was for Le Tiss to play a long diagonal from kick off to Shipperley but over hit the ball so it went over his head, Le Tissier played it perfect and Shipperley said he had no choice but to bring it down on his chest.

He said a few of them but quite a bit each on it and it lost. He said they would do it once a season.

It's not about the money. It's all about the fun, the thrill of the chase.

Le Tissier actually told this story on Soccer Saturday quite a few years back

An interesting one which involved a player who played in the FA Cup against us at the Turf and got involved in a fracas which saw him and Joey Barton booked, although the original incident did not involve him. Now we know why --but it has cost him.

Defender Bradley Wood was meanwhile banned for six years in 2018 after intentionally picking up yellow cards in Lincoln City’s cup run

I only heard about Bradley Wood on the radio today.

What a clown.

Be careful. Le Tiss put that story in his autobiog then had to deny it when the police got involved.

Apologies, repetition.

It's a licence to print money, is there anything football related that isn't up for corruption.
