Fortunately Strictly Come Dancing has finished otherwise some people would have had a very tough choice to make.

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
No thanks. I’ll support Burnley come what may. I’m simply of the view that we won’t stay up this year. I’ll still hope that we do and I’ll still support the team, I just don’t see where the wins come from that we are going to need.claret wizard wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 10:22 pmSeems my response to comments like this up was “moderated”. So I’ll use some less pointed language. Unconditional support is not a requirement, but stupid comments like this help no one. We’ve plenty of opportunities to stay UP whatever the Watford result. Seeing Foulbreath is resigned to us going down maybe they should go watch Accy or Colne.
Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I wouldn’t call you a lesser supporter for thinking like this. I think you are just being honest and realistic. After all, you are only echoing what the bookmakers think.

Couldn’t make it up mate. The “fan” who wont do Saturday evening games.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 6:35 pmEach to their own but that’s an odd one even by my standards
But I think it was the PS, where he feels it necessary to clarify, as a ST holder, he’d like a clarets win. Jesus. Glad we don’t have ST holders that like us to lose
Am all behind an effort to get TM packed to the rafters and bouncing, but those “fans” who’d rather watch the Calcutta cup can stay at home!!

Well if Mr Pace and co are thinking of offering incentives to casual supporters to fill the ground they need to be getting the communication out to fans in the next couple of days. It would be great if we could get the stadium bouncing again.

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I’m not a massive fan of the incentives, mainly since other fans have paid full price and it incentivises people “hanging on” for tickets in future.
I think there’s something in RVclaret idea to offer a package for forthcoming games against the big clubs as well. I also think they could try and benefit from the fixture delays by advertising a half ST at half price but including the additional postponed games as a good will gesture.
But more than anything else I just think the fan base need to get behind the club, stop finding excuses not to attend and get their backsides on the turf because the team need them!

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I did say in my post ‘not perfect’. I would much prefer four wins of course. I was just pointing out the stats to the ditherers. I sincerely hope we beat Watford, but it’s not a must win or a season defining game.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 4:37 amThat’s possible depending on what the others do draws could keep us in contention, would you be confident us going into the final game of the season & needing to win & other to lose to be ok or would wins be better now to avoid that potential situation?

In our position & watfords & bearing in mind we are playing at home, if you don’t consider it a must win I’d love to hear other examples of easier games we are likely to face. If we don’t beat Watford things are looking very bleak if there aren’t already.

Report this morning that we are fourth in the PL league table for value of unsold match day ticket’s.
Spurs first then Chelsea …
Southampton (£108,416) and Burnley (£101,790) were the third and fourth-placed clubs for unsold ticket revenue.

The Travelodge seems to be full as it was not available, unless it is being refurbished. Watford coming in force?
Time for Burnley to stand up and be counted.
Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I'm sadly going to miss it, having booked something before the first time it was postponed.
Should be a great game... but i'd take a horrible, boring 1-0 win haha

I haven't been on the Turf since we drew 0-0 with Brighton and qualified for Europe. I wish I was there this weekend to cheer on The Clarets, perhaps more than any other league game since then.

This deal gets around the problem of people already buying their tickets for full price.

Fortunately I've not bought mine yet as there was an issue getting the Junior Clarets kid for a quid offer. Will use this deal instead now and save the JC offer for another game.

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I'm not going to lie I'm a bit p!ssed off about this offer.
I bought a ticket for £50 in addition to my season ticket as "a treat" for Mrs White as I read this thread and thought to myself we need as much support as possible, and the feckers are now hawking them out for a tenner each?! How bloody dare they!!

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I can understand the frustration. It possibly could have been done earlier, but I think of season ticket holders like myself who are theoretically 'paying more' than anyone who jumps on the offer, a good 9 out of 10 would be in favour of the reduced price to get the fans in, especially if it's rocking and leads to three pointsWinstonswhite wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 7:31 pmI'm not going to lie I'm a bit p!ssed off about this offer.

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I’m definitely in favour of the offer, just why not announce it when the tickets went on sale. Anyway it’s just one of those things. Annoying.
Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
Seem to have sold quite a few more for Man U - about 207 remaining in the Longside upper for that game versus going on for 517 in there against The Hornets.

Fair play to all the Clarets on FB and twitter, offering up their ST to fans who need them to get the offer.

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
Why is the £10 offer only for ST holders to buy additional tickets? Only reason I can think is that they have already sold full price tickets and suddenly selling at a lower price would cause an issue.
Wouldn't there be a benefit in it being open sale, having more people registering for an account and having details for further marketing etc?

Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
If we don’t beat Watford things may look bleak but as has been pointed out many times on this board, not just by me, it is not and cannot be a must win game. Must win games come right at the end of a season when games literally become ‘must win’ or relegation or failure to win a trophy result directly from that defeat/draw. We could beat Watford and be relegated or lose and stay up. The season does not revolve around one result.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:06 pmIn our position & watfords & bearing in mind we are playing at home, if you don’t consider it a must win I’d love to hear other examples of easier games we are likely to face. Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
Technically no it’s not a must win that result alone will not relegate us, to say the season doesn’t revolve around 1 result is also true but all the results are an accumulation leading up to this 1 result. Regarding “must wins games come right at the end” that’s not always true if the team hovering above the relegation spot is 18pts in front of the team at the bottom the last 6 games would all be must win based on GD.houseboy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 9:34 amIf we don’t beat Watford things may look bleak but as has been pointed out many times on this board, not just by me, it is not and cannot be a must win game. Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
Agreed with your last point. Must win games are such when you really do have to win them. But they do normally come at or near the end of a season unless you really are in dire trouble, which aren’t quite yet.
PS. Sorry Jakob, forgot to quote you bud.

Probably not the window we all wanted/hoped, but we are where we are.
Win this game and we are out of the bottom three… let’s get behind the team and get the place rocking!

Totally with you on this. Surely we can only be let down so many times before we give up.
Re: Watford Home - Fill the Turf
I’ll wait to be slagged off but I have given up.
Results we can deal with, it’s part of the journey.
It’s awful to watch, so bad, so boring.
Fans turning away in droves this season home and away.
Making a net profit and adding zero net players to a squad that’s bottom having won 1 game.
Inept transfer market performance, sugar coated as new age European scouting when Orsic and WW could have been found by a 12 year old playing football manager.
Is there a support group for disillusioned fans anywhere before i don’t renew for the first time in about 20 years
