Sad news - Isla Caton

Post by ClaretTony » Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:49 am

A few years ago we all became aware of Bradley Lowery, the young Sunderland fan who finally lost his life to neuroblastoma back in 2017.

Sadly, we have the same news of Isla Caton. I remember donating to a collection at the London Stadium and I know we had a Millwall fan came on this message board, he was raising money for her.

Sadly, Isla passed away this morning aged 7.

The tribute from West Ham

My thoughts are with her family.

Such sad news.

Remember seeing the video update prior to Christmas of the awful news.

RIP little girl

Rest in peace, Isla. My condolences to Nicola and Michael and their wider family. Wonderful gesture by West Ham to give Isla a squad number for a game.

There were some incredible amounts of money raised to fund treatment for Isla and very generous donations from West Ham players and supporters. Sadly, as we saw with young Bradley Lowery, sometimes no amount of treatment can defeat the evil of cancer and neuroblastoma seems to be a particularly cruel disease. RIP Isla and thoughts to her family and fellow Hammers.

Ah that's sad to hear, especially as she had the all clear at one point.

I remember the Millwall fan and seeing the buckets at our away game to west ham that season.

Rip

Yet another piece of dreadful news. To lose a child at any age is just so heartbreaking. There really aren’t enough words to express the sadness and emptiness that’s felt. My sincere condolences to Isla’s family and friends and to you too George, I was saddened to read that about your son.

If ever there was a event to give a perspective on life this is such an event.

Awful for the child and the family, in this case both Isla and Guitargeorge!

RIP little ones.
