March TV picks

Post by ClaretTony » Tue Jan 25, 2022 5:53 pm

Should have been announced yesterday, put back to today and now I'm told it will be tomorrow morning.

No thought for supporters at all.

Probably already too late for train tickets to Brentford, unless you're happy paying about 80 quid return.

We gambled on Sunday night and got returns for around £54. That’s a railcard price though.

We thought about gambling but got burnt the last time we went to Brentford when they moved it to Friday night. The fares really have got stupid though.

Yes the prices seem to have gone up dramatically. We often use Todmorden due to it being much cheaper for London games as we live in Pike Hill/Cliviger area but no real difference in price.

Friday night is my fear as I think Brentford have had a few Friday games this year.

Gambling with fixtures in the PL is not for the faint hearted or the low pocketted.

We're in Colne so getting to Leeds is just as easy as Manchester, which is usually cheaper. Seems to be since Avanti took over the West coast line that prices have got stupid on there.

The prices are shocking. I’ve missed a couple of away games because of the cost of rail tickets. I booked Avanti for Palace Just ahead of lockdown. It cost about £33 (Manc to Euston) with a rail card. Now, lucky to get under £50.

Try looking at Burnley - Halifax return (Leeds Train) and then Halifax to London Kings Cross (Normally around £30). £50 all in return, though not sure about weekends. Normally a half hour wait at Halifax.

Currently between £55 and £62 return from either Preston or Manchester for those doing same day return if it is kept to the Saturday

Halifax to Kings Cross return on 12th March cheapest tickets with Senior Railcard is £29. Into London for 12:00 returning at 19:57 so plenty of time to make the match/return train and a pub stop off if that's your thing. Try splitting the journey - I managed Stevenage to Leeds return for £20 when i came up for the Norwich game.

And they have failed to announce them this morning although BT Sport broke the embargo by announcing three games which they have now removed. Those three didn’t involve us.

We normally go to Steeton and just jump in a taxi.
