Well good luck to us all.

He certainly looks a good talent, he’s got a good record in the European tournaments.

I guess the only downside is he has played the majority of his career in considerably worse leagues.

Let’s hope we have found a gem (certainly looks like he could be from videos)

Key for me is translating the tweets from Dinamo fans. Universally adored.

Yep he’s been their star man, they love him. I think he’s going to be a huge success here (if we get it across the line).

Interested to know whether this means a slight change in system as most of his work is done on the left wing. If we get a new striker in then possibly we look to use McNeil in CAM with Orsic left and Cornet right.

He can shoot.

That would put him in our top two players straight away.

Just like Cornet, if only we would play 343, neither would need to and we might start scoring.

If I was a premier league left back and I saw the team sheet with McNeil lining up as an inverted winger, I’d think all my Christmas’ had come early.

Edit. That was a reply to mala re McNeil at RW.

Initially I'd guess Orsic plays number 10 and Cornet plays left wing because he's got a better understanding of the tracking back expected.

Dwight has switched to the right before, his last goal was from the right at Everton , he's only scored twice since the start of last season (56 appearances). I'd be very surprised if both Orsic and Cornet play the full 90 from the start so at some point Dwight will be able to switch back to the left and JBG or Lennon can come in on the right.

What we're still missing is a target man though, I'd be surprised if we are planning on relying on Jay Rod and Barnes.

If Orsic is only costing 7m (presumably spread over a number of years) surely that means that we've still got dry powder for a target man?

Not nessacelery.

We might have agreed to pay the majority up front in order to secure the transfer.

Edit timed out so here is my original post (more or less)

He’s a perfect example of a right footed player playing as an inverted winger on the left. Move the ball inside and you’re perfectly balanced for a powerful shot on goal.

Dyche has tried it with McNeil on the right but it hasn’t really worked out so far. Still worth persisting with though imo as it offers more options on our weak right hand side.

The question should be how good is he going to be? As for Mcniel i think he will be our future number 10, when he’s been left to wander he looks a real star.

I think your right, everything seems to be pointing to McNeil moving into a central role. I think this will transform our team for the better.

I posted that we'd had a bid accepted and looked likely to sign him on another forum I frequent and this was one of the responses from someone who watches a lot of European football:
What the ****? Orsic would singlehandedly save Burnley from relegation. Top8 on for next year too.

This is like signing Cornet, but better. Not sure why aren't better clubs after him? Does he have a gambling/drinking/temper problem?

Absolutely agree. Aside from his own qualities of receiving the ball and driving with it, having an eye for the pass and finding space, it gives the central midfielders better passing options and means they don’t get as overrun v the many 3s they are up against in this league.

I love these threads, in which we all confidently predict that with the personnel we now have, we are bound to play with a No 10

Even though I 100% agree with all of this, we will still line up 4-4-2 against Watford

Doesn’t come with the same pedigree as Cornet.
Last time Orsic played in a top 5 league in Europe was 2014.

However he certainly looks a talent, let’s hope he is as good as that post suggest.

Not many transfers are paid in full. That must've been a term pitched by Burnley FC to have a potential deal accepted... It'll be down to personal terms if it doesn't happen

Got his own chant already, so must be good.

Rhythm is a dancer,
Orsic is the answer,
You won’t stop him if you dare.
He Came from Croatia.
To be Burnley’s saviour.
Scoring goals from everywhere.

You can imagine that he wasn't speaking Croatian when he was playing in the Korean K league or in China. I would be very surprised if his English isn't decent.

Talk about Left field - what happened to Utah Al's algorithm?

We need a 22 year old striker from La Liga and we've got a 29 year old Left winger from La K Liga.

The algorithm clearly hasn't computed.

Still at least it's something and his stats for Dinamo are impressive.

All this “ the fans love him” means Jack , Defour was getting bottles of P1ss thrown at him at Anderlect before we signed him . Admittedly the injury prone 2 goal Twix loving Belgian was no Messi but still .

I think it’s normally a good sign. And they also think orsic is worth a lot more which is good.

However, Lyon fans were not keen on maxwel and look how that’s turned out.

What, I was expecting him to score a hat trick every week like he did against spurs, that’s how football works isn’t it?

Don’t think we should sign him if that’s not the case

I guess an attacking quick mid is exactly what we need so looking good . Though if Pace and co trouser the 20m or so from the suprise Wood deal ,I’ll be mightily p1ssed off

Assuming this comes off, I’d still be expecting at least a striker and a central midfielder - it’d be silly to expect more though we probably do need it, subject to being able to move one or two on.
