Re: Wout Weghorst
All the signs are there that this piece of business may, MAY, just save our season. We were heading in one direction only with what we had before, regardless of how well his predecessor had done in previous seasons.
Look at him and you see `target man`. Watch him and you see `footballer`.

Yep 10 / 10 for me also in the first half , and will be shocked if he will not get 60% of the pole for best player on here .

Was immense today. On the end of a shocking challenge by Duffy at the end.
Re: Wout Weghorst
You don't make KRBFC's scouting list if you can't play football, I said from the start, he's more Bergkamp than Chris Wood, big in size but has that Dutch flair in his feet.
It's so refreshing to see a striker good with the ball at his feet and heavily involved in the game, sack of shite Wood just stood lazily offside like a statue. Weghorst working himself into the ground, love it

that fancy flick on today was superb, as was the touch around the Watford defender, if Wood tried those moves he'd pull a muscle
Re: Wout Weghorst
I wonder if Orsic is looking wistfully at our results and wondering “if only”.

Re: Wout Weghorst
I keep saying that, while he scored for us, if he was replaced with a striker who could have the footballing brain to link the play up then other players would chip in with the goals required and so it proved today. KRBFC is right, he is a shite footballer.Stalbansclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:36 pm50 Premier League goals for us and Chris Wood gets called a "sack of shite" by one of our "fans".

Can tell he’s a Dutch player. Brilliant touch. Awareness and and elegant swagger for such a big lad. What impresses me more is his desire. That tackle in dying minutes of the game so win the ball back was brilliant

Re: Wout Weghorst
Agree with others that singing his name incorrectly rubbish.
I saw my mate, the other day
He said to me he’d seen the Dutch Pele
So I asked, his name of course
He goes by the name of Wout Weghorst
Won’t Weghorst, Wout Weghorst…
That’s what we need!

Really good all round play but what has impressed me more than anything else is his vision - sensational. I’m not on board with the Wood pile on, who did a lot for us, but WW’s awareness is a level above and really could keep us in this league.

Re: Wout Weghorst
Using the Vokes/Ings chant from a few years back (obviously with the obligatory hand movements as well, and pronou ncing Wouti as it sounds VOWTIE)
"Maxwell Maxwell Maxwell
Maxwell Maxwell Maxwell
MAXWELL CORNET!
Woutie Woutie Woutie
Woutie Woutie Woutie
BIG WOUT WEGHORST!"
and repeat ad infinitum! Using the calming hands for the first bit then going all Oompah pah for the second part.

Yes, he's obviously a top class player but his desire to win and help the team is just as clear. Thats why keeping the same team with little or no changes can sometimes be detrimental
But yesterday, we made two changes to the team that had played so well versus United and Liverpool, and we still looked a very decent side
Get everyone back, and we've got options all over the pitch, and its a long time since we've been able to say that

Re: Wout Weghorst
Hi Wout,
Obviously, you've been told not to read comments made on social media, but I'd like to say what a pleasure it is to have you as part of our team.
You are a professional and that comes across very well.
You damage your knee, but shrug it off as if it's nothing (unlike many others).
You want to play and you want to play for our shirt. You "get" Sean Dyche and he "gets" you.
Here's to lots of goals like the one against Brighton.
And, if you think I'm just blowing smoke up your jacksie, you still owe us a goal from the Liverpool game

Re: Wout Weghorst
Anyone else think that Weghorst and Vydra would compliment each other really well?
I've noticed a marked change since Watford (where the players hadn't had a lot of time to gel with him). And they now know he prefers the ball to feet rather than lumped up in the air. They also seem more inclined to fire it into him as they know there's a chance he can bring others into play.
I think his style of play would get the best out of Vydra if they played as a two.
