He wants it. He’s a winner.
He certainly wanted to stop the ball from going out for a throw on the Longside in the second half

He had no right to win that ball but held the defender of won the ball and played the ball into space

He's made a big difference no doubt, but one man doesn't make a team, and others have also upped their game considerably.
I agree but he’s a catalyst. He’s so good at holding up the ball it just seems to stick to him almost John Louis Valois like.

The only thing he lacks is pace of any sort he’s pretty slow but if he had pace he’d be at a champions league side.

Huge difference Over Wood. The rest of the squad are starting to believe again, Brownhill recently has been a demon.

He was at a Champions League side and he made a couple of sprints for loose balls tonight where he outpaced their backline.
He's not slow, he's quicker than Wood, he's just also got a 6'6" frame to move.

I’ve always liked Chris Wood and he did a great job for us, but something wasn’t quite right this season. I think Wood himself called it when he said he was in his comfort zone and I think this was affecting his team mates - “ if Woody isn’t giving it 100% then why should we?”kind of thing. This has been turned on its head by the work rate of Weghorst and has certainly helped the boost in performances we are seeing.

Valois mention made me smile. It did seem to stick to him and he was an exciting outlet. I’ve just looked up his career and feel like he should have played for better sides than he did

he's galvanized the support on the back of his endeavor - his determination and will has rubbed off on all of the players and all of the supporters. Noses firmly pointing in the same direction now - he's made a HUGE difference

Wood has turned into a 25million plank. He’s a plank of wood. I guarantee that he won’t get a goals for Newcastle. We have, inadvertently caught them with their trousers down. We have a major upgrade for half the price.

Great goalscorer for us but you can't carry poachers in our position. You need players with good teamwork and better all round play.

One for you football statisticians out there.

Does he score more at home or away. He got more room at Brighton and he looks to me like he might get more goals away from home.

Great player, fits into the squad like he has always been one of the lads. I was though concerned that he had an ice patch on his knee last night at the final whistle when he was applauding the crowd.

I liked Chris Wood, and I thought he did a great job for us. However when he was off his game it was like playing with 10 men at times. At least with Weghorst you know he's going to be in the game fighting, even if things don't come off for him

Wegjorst seems to be able to hold it, flick it on, pass it, score with it and tackle and block at the back, when needed!

I'll take that!

Really impressed again last night. So important to our overall play. As Ric C says, even when he’s not scoring in these tight games, he’s contributing!

He’s been absolutely immense since joining. His arrival has certainly coincided with a lift of the team. Absolute fantastic all round team performance last night which just wasn’t happening a few weeks ago.

As an isolated comparison with Chris Wood he is prepared to look for the ball. Without getting too technical he moves across the width of the pitch, knows when to try to hold the ball up and always willing to play others in. Running on empty for a few minutes before being substituted but the response when he left the pitch must have been so satisfying and I feel gave the rest of the players that drive to see the job off.

The Spurs fans in the Cricket Club after the game were singing the praises of Wout and asking themselves why they had not bought him as back-up for Kane. They could not believe we had bought him for £12 million.....

Question. A couple of pundits are saying that bigger clubs than Burnley should sign Weghorst, irrespective of whether or not Burnley are relegated. The question being if Wood was worth £25 million what would Weghorst be worth? He is a better footballer than Wood is and I would suggest has a better footballing brain. (Hackneyed comment that but suffices)

Newcastle paid the premium because of their new found wealth. "Toon Tax" if you like. That said, using the Wood fee as a bench mark, I would suggest we would already want £35 mill for Wout as he is class.

And the rest. But because he is ‘unvaccinated’ common sense will go out of the window, and clubs won’t sign him. Hopefully we can sign a few more unvaxxed class players like him in the summer

I only caught the MOTD highlights, but he again posed a threat 2nd half, and on another day would have bagged, the header from the corner, which produced an excellent save from Butland, and his neat finish which was unfortunately disallowed due to Jay being offside, carry on getting into those areas and the goals will come.

Something has definitely changed following Wood's departure, and it does make you wonder whether he was dragging the rest of the dressing room down with his lacklustre displays, now we finally look like a team fighting for one another, and prepared to scrap for every ball, which wasn't the case for some games in the first half of the season.

Wood wanted out, and it clearly showed in his tepid performances during his last few games, yes he was good for us, but it was time for him to move on, and if he ends up playing in the Championship with Newcastle, maybe he'll have found his comfort zone, and if that does transpire I for one will have a wry smile on my face.

Agree on Brownhill he's been totally transformed, but he's not the only one, the whole squad seems to be enjoying a whole new lease of life.
Looks very much like Wood took his comfort zone to Newcastle with him,he is playing worse than he was at the Turf.

Wood can’t be playing that badly considering NUFC are unbeaten since he’s been starting games. Hasn’t scored but he’s evidently doing something for the team cause. I do think we need to move on now especially because Wout looks to be the real deal

I like Wout, I think he is a clever talented footballer. Far better than Wood with the ball.
However I feel we would never have signed him had Wood stayed and also feel that Dyche didn't want to lose Wood at any cost.
After watching the Palace game my fear is that Dyche will revert to his Dycheball tactics and Wout will not be able to play to his strengths.
I hope Dyche doesn't just use him a an ariel target.

Pitch was very bobbly yesterday which limited any kind of quick one/two touch passing in the main. Hence why Cork struggled and we didn’t get it into WW’s feet as often.

We’ve definitely had a result getting £25m but I do think he’s helping their other attacking players, even if it’s just by occupying defenders. Joelinton e.g. looks a rejuvenated player. Agree he’ll probably be out of the team next season but only because the Saudis will be throwing millions at it.
