Re: Leeds
But for a couple of dodgy penalty decisions we could have easily got a point and maybe even a win. When you're a massive club and a threat to the big 6 like we are you know you are up against more than just the opposition. We'll be alright though as def 4 sides we'll finish above

Naive in the extreme to go to Anfield and play in such an open manner, 10 goals conceded in 2 games to Utd and Liverpool, whereas in the similar fixtures we conceded 2, and picked up a point, and could well have had more.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 10:13 pmBielsa: “I don't think a change of style is going to change what's happening to us."
Fair play to Bielsa for not changing his principles, but he must be on a shaky stool if these heavy defeats continue.

Serious question - why do you spend so much time on a clarets forum, in opposition to every notion in every thread posted?Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 9:47 pmBut for a couple of dodgy penalty decisions we could have easily got a point and maybe even a win. If we'd played properly at Elland Rd, then we'd most likely be above them now.

Re: Leeds
Leeds will play the same way every match and xan be good to watch. However, when all the teams at the bottom dig in and get some success, they will be revealed as 'the soft touch'.
They must hope that they can get 4 wins out of middle of the table teams, with nothing at stake.

Wasnt Bielsa World coach of the Year or something similar last year ? ...2 years to get Leeds out of the Championship, followed by a mid table finish, then a relegation battle

Re: Leeds
Exactly what Klopp (and Pep) wants is for clubs to turn up to try to match them in open play. That way when Liverpool hammer them, klopp gets to say nice things about the opposition instead of whinging like a bitch because him and his team were unable to break a team of “ inferior” players down.tiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 11:19 pmNaive in the extreme to go to Anfield and play in such an open manner, 10 goals conceded in 2 games to Utd and Liverpool, whereas in the similar fixtures we conceded 2, and picked up a point, and could well have had more.

Naive in the extreme from Bielsa. First thing I did on seeing the score was check to see how many Leeds players had been sent off…

Re: Leeds
No fair point, and I'm not crowing, but we have never been battered all season, whereas some of the other sides down there have taken some heavy defeats, that can't be good for confidence surely.dougcollins wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 8:30 pmI'm not gonna crow whilst we're in the bottom three, ffs.
Yes we're still in the bottom 3, but compare our form to those around us, and what gives me hope is we've never gone on long runs of defeats this season, far too many draws yes, but we haven't suffered losing 3/4/5 games on the bounce which other teams in the dogfight have done.
Leeds have shipped 56 goals in 25 games, so averaging more than 2 a game against, it's hard to win many games if you need to score 3.

Re: Leeds
The Leeds defeat was a heavy defeat. Maybe not in the numerical sense, but we were absolutely shafted on the day. We rolled over like I have never witnessed under Dyche. We have been hit for five a few times but never chucked the towel in like we did at Bellend Rd this season...
I was convinced after that game we were done at this level.
Now? Now I'd say we have a huge chance of getting out of this. If we do, judging by our recent dalliances in the transfer market, (which have been excellent) I reckon we could easily be an established PL mid-table side.
