Fingers crossed it's true and the start of his rapid downfall.
Is this just the Mirror talking pony or has it been confirmed everywhere?

Quite a few reports all from same source though, it depends on its reliability and how long it takes for the original Putin to emerge mot one of the called doubles.

Wouldn’t suprise me in the slightest if the old dog was actually dead ,as that would be how they’d drip feed it ( ie heart attack) Though all that TG channel covers is what Putin’s “ doubles “ are doing within the daily Kremlin round of activity .

Though in a war where RUS announces its “taking up new better positions” can mean a horrible bloody defeat and the West announcing “ RUS are fighting with shovels and washing machines “ can mean a UKR defeat ,it’s impossible to really know .

It’s been bubbling all summer, but it would appear AFU are establishing a substantial beachhead on the Dnipro.

Agreed Vegas - feels like it's getting close to being on a knifes edge.

Issue with the Putin heart attack reports is that it would not be the first time Putin had played dead to see who was looking to take over…

It seems highly likely the gulf/Eastern Europe conflicts are connected, it is clear as soon as you look at wider alliances.

Not political comment, so much as fact.

I don't want to derail the thread too much - I'll just say that Dagestan and Chechyna are republics that are part of the Russian Federation - Russia have had trouble with them, particularly with religious Islamic extremism/seperatist groups since the inception of the Russian Federation but Putin has been able to keep them in check for the most part by sorting out their respective leaders(oligarchs) with a smack load of cash.

I don't think they are connected but some will want to do so. Maybe the Palestinians discussed the attack with Iran, their chief sponsor and also a vital supplier of equipment to Russia, but most seem to think it was a Palestinian decision to attack. The timing of the assault seemed to coincide with the imminent closer relationship between Israel and Saudi Arabia which has now been, officially at least, scuppered. It was a pot that was surely going to boil over sooner or later in any case.

It will obviously affect the war in the Ukraine as, apart from Iran's contributions, the US in particular is also a major supplier in both wars.

"One of Ukraine's greatest achievements since February 24 is the expulsion of the Russian military fleet from the Black Sea.
ANTON GERASHCHENKO-
It was in the Black Sea that we managed to prove that Ukraine will not only remain a contributor to global security, including food security, but is also capable of protecting security.

Thanks to our alternative export routes, we have already managed to transport 6 million tons of cargo for countries on three continents - Africa, Asia and Europe," - President Zelenskyy at the 33rd session of the International Maritime Organization Assembly.

Kiev Independent: Commander: Russian troops continue offensive operations along eastern front line.

The situation in Ukraine’s east remains difficult as Russian troops continue conducting offensive operations along the entire front line, Ground Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi reported on Dec. 10.

Russia is going to keep up the pressure to maintain the war where no side can win whilst Ukraine gets military support. But the main supplier of the support, USA, is looking more doubtful since the Republicans are not backing it.

US intelligence also assessed that the war in Ukraine has devastated the pre-war Russian military

US intelligence also assessed that the war in Ukraine has devastated the pre-war Russian military, although Russia has partially offset these losses and continues to prepare for a long war in Ukraine. The declassified intelligence assessment reportedly stated that Russian forces have lost 87 percent of the total number of their pre-war active-duty ground troops and two-thirds of the tanks in their inventory before February 24, 2022.[10] The declassified intelligence assessment reportedly stated that Russian forces lost 315,000 personnel out of the 360,000 personnel, 2,200 out of 3,500 tanks, and 4,400 out of 13,600 infantry fighting vehicles and armored personnel carriers that participated in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The assessment reportedly stated that Russian ground forces have lost over a quarter of their pre-invasion stockpiles of military equipment as of late November 2023, reducing the complexity and scale of Russian offensive operations in Ukraine.

https://www.understandingwar.org/backgr ... er-12-2023

Earlier in this report it talks of the Russian attack, particularly on Avdiivka, being done to influence discussions on western support to Ukraine rather then for strategic purposes.

In my view the West has to consider not only their support but also what the alternatives are.

The problem is mainly Republicans, the problem is always mainly Republicans. The other side aren't much better but the politics are so beyond petty here in the US nothing will ever get done. They'll gladly send their sons and daughters into a war though further down the line that will cost an awful lot more

Exactly what Russia hoped and expected would happen. They've played the long game and knew we would lose interest. Very poor stuff from (some) of Ukraine's supposed allies.

Allies being dictated to by the Republicans and Hungary who have both blocked aid packages to Ukraine. Unfortunately politics wins over lives.

Definitely. And I have to question what's actually going on with said bloody Hungarians. They campaigned to join Europe, become part of "the club" and then turn out to be closet Ruskies all along and keep undermining what Europe is trying to do. Very weird and they need to make up their minds as to exactly what they really want.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don’t follow this but what’s their problem? Or alleged problem?

Or are some rubles/crypto finding their way in to Hungarian ministers bank accounts?

Poland was behaving similarly with the EU until the Ukraine war made them realise which side their bread should be buttered.

The story has changed 'slightly' from initial reports of a direct strike but the fact it's caused huge damage still isn't remotely going to be acceptable over here

Putin is losing his touch. Currently, the US military aid package is held up in Congress. The death of Alexei Navalny will serve to focus the minds of the waverers.

Sadly they are making progress, although limited in Ukraine. Hopefully more western aid will flood in but Russia have the advantage of population, maybe more mercenaries will join in plus the Russian battalion that is anti Putin is growing.

Interesting events in the good old US could be changing the way this war is heading in the near future.
We need Trump to get in, he will put an end to this war quickly. Unfortunately the Biden liberal war machine don't want that and will go to any length to stop him.

“ went for a walk and felt unwell, after being taken and he died shortly after “ Jesus wept ! The poor b@stard , the sheer brutality of RUS can be staggering at times .

The only reason I can think they’ve released the news now is due to the virtual fall and encirclement of Avdiivka ,which is a huge thing for Russia due to this being the so called “ impenetrable fortress “ presume this allows them to utilise Donetsk fully ?

Is this an attempt at humour? Trump in power is the last thing we need. Nor America, for that matter. He will appease Russia. Reward their aggression and they will feel, quite rightly, emboldened.

While I don’t think Trump getting in again is good for anyone , it cannot be denied that the US has fought a full proxy war and now probably has a huge stake in UKR . While RUS will always need a close eye on it , this war desperately needs a solution , and RUS will never invade NATO land .
