The missed sitter, and then the 1st goal changed the game.

Kante is so solid in the middle, and second half they just left men on either wing, knowing we play so narrow, it was an easy out into lots of space, that had us constantly backpeddling. Our sloppiness in the little possession we had 2nd half, also didn't help. So many 50/50 balls we lost out on, in Dwights case backed out of.

Form happy and reasonably content at half time to very deflated and deeply worried at full time. Whilst we were all already aware of the importance of next weeks game before today it is now a must win. If we lose that game we are definitely done, I also think if we draw it we will struggle to catch Brentford. It’s the combination of them winning today and that second half performance.

All in all, I think we were unlucky. It was an abysmal start to the 2nd half, but at half time I was delighted. We also looked ok in patches of the 2nd half. That being said, it's no good playing well for 60 minutes if you are SO bad for the other 30. We seriously missed Mee's organisation. And McNeill needs a rollicking for his attitude at times. Still, Cornet looked really sharp, and that's a point in 3 games that in all seriousness is probably par for the course

15 sloppy minutes against the 3rd best team in the league who were well planned to manage us today. The the way city beat us we are having a good season.

Get behind the lads.

Excellent first half, terrible second half. Not really sure what happened at half time but the players totally switched off for the first 10 minutes of the second half, it was embarrassing. The ONLY crumb of comfort is that Maxwell looked sharp and a lot fitter when he came on, but I'm clutching at straws a bit.

My God we miss Ben Mee

Pope 4 - how many saves did he make other than 1 in the first half?
Roberts 4 - looks average on this showing
Taylor 4 - We've looked a lot shakier since he came back into the team
Collins 4 - Sorry, I'm not seeing it
Tarkowski 4 - Missed Mee, all over the shop
Lennon 6 - At least he tried
McNeil 4 - Not having this scapegoat mentality at all, get behind the lad. At least he tries to play a bit of football
Westwood 4 - Another scapegoat, airy fairy tackles were the contributor to the 1st goal though.
Brownhill 5 - Did ok, nothing more
Weghorst 5 - Tough day
Rodriguez 4 - Anonymous
Cornet 6 - Showed flashes when he came on, my God we need him firing and sharpish, otherwise we are toast.

We looked a relegation team in the second half, it's going to take a miracle to get out of this now, all we can do is get behind the team and stop ******* moaning

Lennon lively, McNeil wasteful, midfield overrun, Collins learning. That sums it up I think. Against a good side. Even taking a chance we may have lost.

One thing I would observe, once Cork and Pieters have left the side we suddenly look far worse. May not have a choice with Pieters but I would bring Cork back for Westwood next week. Dyche won’t of course, he will stick to his favoured eleven come what may. I just fear it will cost us. I’m a traditionalist, you don’t change a winning side, Cork needed a rest from 2 games a week, that’s it.

Entire defence was all over the gaff. I'm not convinced Roberts is an uplift on Lowton and Tarks/Collins did not look comfortable together at all - big caveat that CFC have some very good, clever players up top who showed good movement. And Ashley Westwood...my god - he's only getting in on sentiment. How much better has Brownhill, and the midfield generally, looked with Cork in? He brings Westwood back in and lo and behold the midfield is powder puff and Brownhill is back in his shell. Cork simply must start against Brentford. Dwight looked out of sorts but didn't deserve the reaction he was getting - I genuinely think a lot of it is just his manner rather than inherent laziness. We need him performing if we're going to get out of this mess, so getting on his back helps nobody. Thought the two front lads tried but had mere scraps to feed on - WW needs it playing to feet not those aimless channel balls beloved by you know who. Cornet had a bright cameo. Fact is, we had a big chance first half and we missed it which we know you can't do against a team like Chelsea. After that first goal, they were in control. Big game next week.
