They’re dreadful, yes, much worse than us (for me).
Everton won’t go down.

They’re on a dreadful run of form but they have the players to turn it around.

Everton are not going to go down. Far too much quality, they will come god and win three or four and that will be enough for them to stay up.
Hmm! not defending like this they won't, and their fixture list is tough, plus their away form is terrible. Definitely one of the sides we can finish above if we get our own affairs in order.

Everton are at serious risk of going down. It would be foolish to suggest otherwise.

But a crap manager though. We'd never have conceded five tonight against a poor Spurs team, that's for sure!

Whether on the ground or a volley his accuracy is phenomenal.

One of the worst performances I’ve seen all season in the Prem this by Everton. Organisation is absolutely atrocious and the amount of times they’ve given it away in dangerous areas is frightening.

Everton decide to play it out from the goal kick and lose it again and again. Like watching Norwich under Farke this.

Is it inconceivable that they might think they've made a huge mistake in appointing Lampard and give him the boot, and try and get a streetwise manager in, in the mold of Carlo Ancelotti for example?

Can't imagine the Everton board would allow themselves the luxury of seeing how Frank Lampard does for the rest of the season if they drop into the bottom three and stay there for a week or two.

I think the panic button could easily be pressed, and very quickly.

Have to say I think it’s poor from Lampard bringing the Ukrainian lad on at 4-0 down, lad must already be understandably very low and he gets thrown into a game like that.

I don’t think the board have a clue what they are doing there. They were close to appointing the guy from Porto until fans protested and said they wanted Lampard.

Jimmy Harris got a hattrick for Everton and Bobby Smith scored four for Spurs- doubt there was much debate about who wanted to keep the match ball!

As with Wovers 0-7 against Fulham this might be the kick up the arse Everton need. Hopefully not and they do look dreadful.
By rights Nick Pope should start Englands next game but knowing GS it will be Ramsdale. Pickford shouldn’t be in the squad the season he’s had.

The Everton fans I know haven’t even considered the the idea that they might get relegated.

So it would be a nice to see it happen, especially if we survive.

So everton has
H vs. Wolves
H vs. Newcastle
@ Crystal Palace
@ West Ham
H. vs Man U
@ Liverpool
H vs. Chelsea
@Leicester
H vs Brentford
@Arsenal
@ Burnley (TBD)

I don't see a lot of easy games here... that home vs. newcastle and home vs. brentford are going to be must wins for them.

At one point in the season, I thought the Burnley newcastle was going to be for staying up, but I think our match vs. everton is going to be more important.

Next 2 home games are key for Everton, win both, or take 4 points, that will ease the pressure, but if they fail to win either then the pressure really will ramp on on Lampard.

The important aspect of us playing Everton is it's at TM, and with their travel sickness we have to fancy our chances in that one.

The pundits were positively drooling when good old Frank gotbthe job, when will they ever learn that great players and media darlings don't necessarily make the best managers.

Considering how long they've been in the top flight you could easily say it would be the biggest relegation in English football.

Lampard calling them out. Remains to be seen whether it gets a reaction or makes things worse:

"Mistakes. Crucial mistakes [cost us], allowing their stengths. We were comfortable for 15 or 20 minutes. Individual errors led to goals which took the game away from us. It’s difficult when you're 2-0 or 3-0 down.

"You can point out the strengths of Spurs' team. When you know what's coming and fall foul of it, that’s the most disappointing thing.

"The reaction was not good enough. It was the reaction of a team used to losing away from home. We need to sort it out.

"The psychological side is one [element]. Football is about being resilient. The only way to turn that round is to work hard. Then it’ll turn. It doesn't come from magic, it comes from work.

"Dominic [Calvert-Lewin] is still striving for full match fitness. We need him in the team and don’t have time to feed him in. Anthony Gordon was our standout player because of his attitude and quality. Some other performances were not up to scratch. I won’t name names. Today the team issue was we weren’t good enough.

"Up and down [form] and that's not a good thing. Losing 5-0 is the same, three points not gained away from home. Teams around us are also losing games. We’re in a similar position to when I got here.

"[What he said after the game] needs to stay in the dressing room. Some things need reflection and a bit of time. Some things need to be said straight away. But it’s a good group. We have to hold our hands up to them [fans] and saw it wasn’t good enough.

"13 games left, that’s a couple more than some other teams. I could tell there was a fear of relegation when I came in. 13 games is a lot of points, a lot of football. I looked at it, the results before I came in, some of the base stats don’t lie. They don’t change overnight. At Goodison we’ve been really good and away from home we haven’t. This challenge isn’t bigger than I expected, I knew it would be."

Quite possibly and Everton are always considered to be a PL mainstay, and they are one of only 5 clubs never to fall out of the PL, along with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs & Utd, similarities to Villa a few years back, many thought they were too big to drop, but drop they did, and it took them several seasons to finally recover.

Even if Everton do survive considering the fortunes they've thrown at fees and wages over the past decade it can hardly be considered a great achievement can it.

The one key match for Everton is their last home game against Brentford. If Brentford are safe by then I hope their keeper doesn’t get “nobbled” like Hans Segers did all those years ago and dive over the top of the ball for the softest of goals?

Everton's home form will keep them up.

The Spurs front 3 were as good as I have seen for along time last night.

Thankfully Kane and Son were half asleep against us.

Maybe they were as good against us as we allowed them to be. Everton really remains to be seen, Goodson has always been intimidating, but the longer Everton stay among it the more it will be focused on the Everton players rather than the opposition.

Everton's last 9 home games

W 1 D 2 L 6

There seems a lot of faith in this home form, seen it said quite a few times they will be ok because of the home games. Go a goal down in a home game and they turn very quickly. It is a shame Rafa wasn't in charge last night just for the high pitched meltdown the country could have witnessed

When we are defending at our best it always gets mentioned that the opposition are having an off day. Never any credit given to us in that respect.

The bottom line is that we DIDN'T allow them any space, and like Salah the week before we defended very well.

We did defend well and they were half asleep but Kane still should have scored 2 or 3.
The new lad Kalinski sp? should have bagged.

But last night the whole team clicked with fast passing that I don't think we would have coped with.

Let's hope they don't play like that when we play down there or it will be 4 or 5.

Everton no doubt are capable of far more than us and the recent home games against City and Leeds were very good performances.

That level could win all their remaining home games, but they are where they are because of lack of consistency.
