Where are there lots of PL games on tonight?

Post by gandhisflipflop » Thu Mar 10, 2022 7:49 am

Am I missing something? Seems a strange night to have the games on.

Presumably to avoid clashing with Champions League fixtures, I believe UEFA want to avoid PL being on at the same time. Having said that, I'm sure there were a couple of clashes last week.

UEFA have said it is fine, a cynic maybe be thinking somebody at the Premier League thinking of overseas viewing figures and avoiding a clash with popular tournaments

Tv companies will want to maximise viewing figures and not clash.

Are they covered live?

Agreed. The one that worries a bit is Leeds v Villa. Villa have had two very decent results on the trot (4-0 v Saints, 2-0 at Brighton) but before that lost to Watford (h) and Newcastle (a). Lets hope they show their most recent form and the Watkins/Ings/Coutinho trio knock a few in.

Now let's not be greedy Buxton, if I had to choose one team to win out of those it would have to be Villa, we can surely finish above Norwich & Watford, and being realistic Newcastle are heading towards safety at a rate of knots, whereas Leeds are one of the teams that we can be targeting in the coming weeks, especially if their rotten recent form continues.

Leeds may well become a very defensive team from now on with perhaps the first goal winning the match....

They might but is that in their DNA, they've played expansively for so long now it won't be easy for March to change the style instantly, and time is something which he and they don't have.
