Yeah you're right. Much more exciting g scraping into the playoffs at the last minute and having a cup run than winning a title going 23 undefeated or qualifying for the Europa playoffs after finishing 7th and upsetting the big 6 many times in the last few seasons.
I’m not sure why we are trying to compare Coyle with Dyche? It is patently obvious that Dyche has been a far more successful manager than Coyle. Now that Coyle is managing Queens Park it could be argued he has found his level in the third tier of Scottish football. If he gets them promoted however he will probably be managing in the Scottish Premier again very soon.
He did do well at Burnley though and must have been a good motivator in that promotion winning season which I thoroughly enjoyed, including stopping an extra couple of unplanned days in London on the strength of the play off victory.
Dyche is a different kettle of fish altogether than Coyle. He has brought success to the club for several seasons, if survival in the Premier League is measured as success. However, the rigid style of football we play does not endear us to the tv watching football public. I rarely get excited watching us and would estimate I see around half a dozen games a season that are good to watch. The rest are generally dire.
It is looking probably 60/40 on that we will be relegated this season and I am not sure Dyche will be able to deliver a swift return back to the Premier League with what will be a depleted ageing squad and no real money to spend from the parachute payments? Interesting times.
Back to Coyle though. I don’t wish him any ill will anymore. I hated him at the time for the deceitful way he left us but I have gotten over that. I thank him for what he did for Burnley FC and the exciting football we played under him, and I wish him well for the future even though I am sure he is destined to fail.

Some very exciting times under Coyle and he obviously did an excellent job. But the Dyche era is in a different league - bizarre to suggest his achievements e.g. winning the Championship and finishing 7th in the PL don’t come close.
The unexpected 2nd place finish is up there with the title win for me. Some of the football we played that season when Trippier and Ings were at their best was something else.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma now for some unknown reason Queens Park are my second team and I always look out for their results I have nothing personally against Couple but when he left us I always took great joy when his side's got beat albeit they were all Lancashire rivals. But if he is to become Queens Parks manager I will no longer revel in his downfall

Probably time to move on if you’re still hating Coyle. Like it or not, he produced an amazing year or two for this club and was a serious catalyst for change.

I’ve got to agree, that was the best season in many a year for entertainment value. Good times.
It wasn't anywhere near as good as the first Dyche promotion fuelled by Trippier, Ings and Vokes.

Coyle has took Queen's Park into the Scottish Championship PO final with a 1-0 win at Dunfermline, he certainly knows how to win these KO games doesn't he.

Airdrie or Montrose await currently playing ET in that one 4-4 on aggregate.

Coyle and Queen's park promoted after an ET victory in the PO final at Airdrie.

His PO record is good isn't it.

I think he joins them in June. According to the post match reaction , John Potter was in charge.. Apparently Coyle was in the dugout for both legs of the semi final.

Ah! didn't know that, thought he's already taken the reins, he was definitely in the dugout as there's been footage on the Scottish news of him prowling the touchline.

It'll be interesting to monitor their progress next season, with the money they have behind them they'll be hoping to get straight up to the SPL.

Finished the regular season around 20 points behind Airdrieonians but still beat them in the final.

That's the beauty of the play-off's. what's gone previously doesn't matter, it's all on the day, or 2 days in this case.

Would have been a bit of a beggar to know who to support, even if I'd known it was on. Judas Coyle v. the Scottish MK Franchise? Hmm.
