Selection would be interesting if Jennings, Buttler, Livingstone, Jimmy and Mahmood were added to the mix

Good first day for both Lancs and Yorks, and an excellent start for Croft and Vilas to both hit tons. And pleasing for Phil Salt to get a few on his debut, full batting bonus points should be coming Lancs way, and then it's a case of seeing how the bowlers fare with a decent total behind them.

Alastair Cook continues to break the records doesn't he, and after a ton last week he's well placed for another tomorrow.

More runs for Ollie Pope with an unbeaten century.

A great day for the Red Rose - how good will depend on what happens when Kent bat. Batting was pretty easy and it was noticeable how quiet the Kent side were considering this was their first home game of the season. I would hope that our bowlers have more appetite for the game than the Kent ones had.

Away from all the Dyche drama, Lancs still going along nicely, 150 for Croft, and a blistering 50 for Salt, 420-4.

Lancs 506 all out, shame for Salt to narrowly miss out on his 100. Kent 82-0 in reply, and unless something dramatic happens this is likely to be a high-scoring draw.

3 late wickets for Lancs and Parkinson has changed the complexion of this game, 133-3 after being 109-0.

Surely it's only a matter of time before he plays for England.

260 all out, and Lancs do enforce the follow on, Balderson mopping up the tail, and a great chance for Lancs to start the season with a thumping win now.

Looks like Kent are attempting to drop anchor.

Robinson gone as I type, 5 down now. Compton might carry his bat in both innings here.

Should wrap this up sharpish in the morning, dominant display throughout, and an ideal start to the campaign, the batsmen scored runs, and all the bowlers have chipped in with wickets.

And this is a side missing Anderson, Buttler & Jennings if not a few others.

Yes, excellent start for Lancashire. Maximum 24 points, I think, tomorrow morning.
I can't make the Gloucestershire game next week, but looking forward to a day at the Warwickshire match two weeks later.

This eighth wicket partnership is proving a little stubborn......over 100 now.

Just need one more wicket, although it looks like we'll have to bat again.

Compton still there on 94. Tenth wicket partnership of 20 so far.

Yes a convincing Lancashire win, but Compton in particular made them work for it, 3 innings 3 centuries for this lad, he makes opening look easy.

Accy Stanley will feature heavily then in the quiet periods, glad ‘Bumble’ is back commentating, he's always good value. :)

That does look a strong side. Yorkies beat Glouc away in the first round of games so we need the win at OT or there'll be pelters. It looks like the weather should stay fine so every chance of a result. I think Glouc have a decent batting line up but dont look that strong with the ball.

Gloucs have batted well so far. 39-0

Lancs have bowled alright but could do with bowling at a right hander with their out swingers.

Great afternoon for Lancs. Having won the toss and got to 119before losing their first wicket (38th over); further Glos wickets at: 131/2, 133/3, 142/4, 150/5, 150/6.
No wickets for Jimmy yet- he'll be a bit miffed about that I think and wanting to bowl to get a share of the spoils.
