I'm only just catching up with this, very pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

329 to win in the 4th innings of the game in less than 100 overs is an excellent effort- especially having been 19-2 and 94-4. Terrific innings from Wells and great support from Jones & Balderson. Trouble is my two local counties Surrey and Hants both doing very well too (and both having also eked out good wins today v Somerset & Yorks.
Well done red rose.

Not much happening at Bristol between the rain delays, 12-0 in the 8th.

Essex 3 down already against Hampshire, including Cook and Lawrence out cheaply.

And batting teams struggling in general in the 1st hour.

Gloucs finally all out 337, Lancs going well in reply, Jennings especially, he's in the 70's, and Lancs 112-1, Wells the man out for 3. but I guess he was due a low score eventually.

Lancs lost a few wickets in the final session, still well placed though on 226-4, Croft and Salt well set. shame for Jennings to just miss out on a ton.

A good day with the bat for Lancs, runs all the way down the order, and the tail definitely wagging,400-9, and a useful lead of over 60.

The ever reliable Bailey with 2 early wickets, but a partnership now forming between Lammonby and Bartlett, 63-2 after 22, so Lancs keeping the RR well in check.

Yorkshire already 3 down after choosing to bat Scarborough against Surrey.

And a 56 ball 50 for Dom Sibley, clearly he's buying into the Bazball mantra.

A wicket for Williams, but Somerset making decent progress this afternoon, 155-4, and the 5th wicket pair just notching a 50 partnership.

Lancashire being thwarted by a couple of Somerset youngsters in Goldsworthy and Rew, both whom have 50's to their name, and are presently sharing a century stand for the 5th wicket, 215-4 post-tea.

Lyth and Tattersall likewise saving Yorkshire from trouble with a big 6th wicket stand, taking them from 125-5 to 260-5.

Somerset 297-5 at close, they'll be the happier of the 2 sides tonight.

Yorkshire also had a good day in the end, 125-5 became 364-5 thanks to unbeaten tons by Lyth and Tattersall.

Alistair Cook once again in the runs, and well set to add yet another century to his name tomorrow.

Somerset amassing 446 in the end, Lancs going well so far 31-0.

Yorkshire also in the runs 521 against Surrey, mainly due to a 305 run stand between Lyth and Tattersall.

Finally yet another 100 for the evergreen Cook, eventually out for 145.

Wells completed his ton this morning, but he's now gone for 109, 186 added for the 1st wicket though, wasn't isn't too shabby. Jennings closing in on his own century.

100 for Jennings now as Lancashire press merrily on 240-1 with Bohannon also going nicely.

Jennings 176 no

200 for Jennings, and yes I guess this is a good track for batting, Lancs 426-2, only 20 behind now. and they'll still be hoping to push for victory on day 4.

Bohannon sadly just missed out on his ton dismissed for 91.

Lancs trying to move the score on post tea, Croft and Vilas both out, but Jennings closing on his 250, and Lancs nearly 500.

Balderson gone cheaply, 588-6, and a declaration can't be far away I imagine with a lead of almost 150.

Might as well carry on batting tonight if we can, gives the bowlers another day to put their feet up, and there's no way Somerset can win this game from here, so they'll be batting for a draw on day 4 whatever.

Not a bad day for Keaton Jennings was it, and Lancs have a fair shot of winning this game now, lead of 178, and a full days play to bowl Somerset out again.

6 and this time it's Williams, somerset only have a slender lead of 12, so Lancs could nick this in the closing session.

We need to take the last four wickets in the next six overs.
We would then have three overs to score the twenty or so needed to win.

Pity we gave it a good shot though, good for the batsmen to score runs, and 7 wickets in the match for Morley.

Hampshire and Surrey both won, but Lancs tucked in nicely behind both in 3rd, so still well in the mix.

Next up after Finals Day a trip to Northampton.

CC is back today with Lancs making the trip to Northants, not a day you want to be in the field methinks.

Counties given the option to play three 90 minute sessions rather than 120 on Day 1 due to the weather. Starting play an hour/90 minutes early would be been too much like common sense.

Lancs have Northants 69/2, one each for Wood and Sundar.

Couple of teams doing their best to get out in the field in the peak of the heat today.

Kent 69/5 at Edgbaston
Essex 58/4 v Surrey

Pretending they were on tour in Australia, West Indies, India, Pakistan, etc., might have solved the problem.

Northants 163-5, 2 for Sundar and Williams, 1 for Luke Wood, and Lancs sticking it at in the field.

100 for Hameed.
