Knowing something & actually having the will to act upon it are 2 completely different things, we’ll know more after the man United game just how damaging the comments were.
Will we?

Winnings winning home or away, ok then the ring piece twitching can commence on the 24th in the derby game & tbh I think everybody’s bowels are safe in that 1

Maybe Dyche should keep his team talks to himself in future .

Just think, if Dyche had criticized a single team throughout the season, they'd be walking away with the league title by now.

Spot on pal, absolutely fine if we had played a team that we had no chance of catching and no problem SD bulling up our performance but....... ?? He got carried away blowing his own trumpet 🎺

How utterly ridiculous. As if Everton needed dyche to tell them they have 6 points away from a possible 40 odd. It doesn’t make any difference what dyche says in that situation. He could have said Everton are **** and nobody would care. I doubt Everton players/staff even know he said that.

& some, the race isn’t run the finishing line is nowhere near it wouldn’t be so bad if it was, I just had a sneaky suspicion Everton would win today despite some people saying man United wasn’t at their best. Some things you do do & some things are just a massive no no.

Lampard probably had the video of him saying they can’t win a game on a loop in the dressing room before todays game , if anyone says your shite it is extremely motivating to shut them up .

If some think Everton were motivated on today's performance then they'll get destroyed if they play to the same standard against Liverpool.

Thing is though they might not need to, even if we pick up against Norwich Everton are still in the box seat even more so if we get beat. The only thing which will apply pressure to Everton is us being close behind & matching, Everton could (depending what we do) even drop off for certain games safe in knowledge the gaps maintained.

That's true, although if we win tomorrow it then puts the pressure back on Everton to win all their home games.

My god there’s some wet wipes on here. Dyche was spot on in his assessment of Everton (he even clarified more away from home) and if you genuinely think a throwaway comment like that has somehow spurred Everton on then you have to a) question their mentality in the first place and b) have the most simplistic idea of football mentality ever. Everton won today because they were playing a disgrace of a United team. We’ve a bit to go yet.

So the consensus is that Everton players and Lampard are so **** that it needs Dyche to point out in public an obvious fact to turn them into winners? In which case football management is a piece of ****.

Your not understanding are you ?
It’s a well known fact managers put quotes by opposition managers up in a dressing room , or teams booking victory parades or booking coaches to Wembley like Plymouth, managers use it as motivation to wind their players up .

Fact is Dyche didn’t need to broadcast his halftime team talk and has obviously spoken to Lampard about it .
It was a mistake can’t understand why people can’t just accept it.

I’m fully understanding. If a manager needs to put a bloody quote up by an oppo manager to motivate his players there is something severely wrong. It’s moot anyway because I doubt he’s even done that. You’ve just got carried away with this idea that Dyche had broken some kind of omertà code about his team talk when my opinion is that it’s had a negligible effect at best. Evidently I’m not the only one.

Edit - and that Lampard quote backs that up. Sean even clarified in the same interview what he meant and evidently to Lampard too. You’ve just got the wrong end of the stick and trying to get a dig in at Dyche unnecessarily

Stone cold delusion in my view to think that a credible correlation doesn’t exist between Everton’s victory & some careless comments a few days beforehand, make no mistake Manchester United weren’t brilliant today but a side chasing a champions league qualification slot don’t just give up & hand things over, Everton were chomping at the bit from the off it’s hardly surprising.

There just don't get it pal you really have to break it down for people on here so here goes :

Nobody has said the comments after the game on Wednesday affected Everton result today.

Nobody is saying the manager and the team did not produced a great result on Wednesday night.

The point and the ONLY point made was when you are in a relegation battle - whether it ends up being a motive or not - DO NOT, DO NOT make unnecessary comments when they were NOT required about a team in the same battle as you.
SD is a experienced manager who is used to relegation battles - it was noted he made a error - NOT he needs to resign or leave - HE MADE A ERROR.

Now let's take this a step further - if we finish 3rd bottom and Everton finish 4th bottom, the guy who made those quotes about Everton on Wednesday night, what does it say about him and his team if we finish below a team "that bottle it" - "that struggle to get over the line" - "that have a mentality issue" - talk about quotes that might come back and bite you on the ass.

Neville is an absolute whopper.
A well documented clown.

Aye ok then , I suppose you think Rangnicks quotes about Burnley aren’t disrespectful either .
I don’t even know the quotes by Rangnick you’re referring to.

You’re being really weird about this and I’m starting to question why you’re even bothering your arse to be a Burnley fan.

Neville didn’t say the quote spurred them on or even words to that effect, he just said Lampard did well after his team was questioned - he’s not doubt pally with Lampard being an ex international team mate so it’s hardly surprising he’s going to big him up. In fact a lot of Lampard’s mates in the media will be geeing him up in the coming weeks and it says a lot about you that you’re standing with them rather than the team you purport to support at a crucial stage in the season.

A non story.Sean did very well v Everton and most of us expected Manure to turn up v Everton
But it's about us winning and we can't hope for others to help by loosing
Win today and we are on the way upwards again ,
I believe we will stay up.UTC

I partly agree with you but I believe the comments did affect Everton’s result today because it served as a kick up the backside that was woefully lacking, you are right if Everton do take the last safe spot the comments will come back to haunt & it’ll be acutely embarrassing for 1 bloke & 1 bloke only let’s hope that doesn’t happen though.

If you really think Everton were motivated yesterday do you believe they would have beaten any other side in the top six on that performance, or even got close?

That’s not relevant, the performance was enough to ensure the job got done, it’s all ifs, & buts & maybes about this that & the other, the facts are Everton were playing a team who were within a game & a draw (based on GD from a CL qualification slot) Spurs hadn’t beat AV by then & arsenal hadn’t even played not that that matters anyway. Some people suggesting MU were rubbish (wasn’t brilliant) isn’t accurate they wouldn’t have forced Pickford into a series of saves if they couldn’t be arsed.
