More a case of I'm used to hearing a story for the whole of a transfer window, only for it to fall through and we end up with nothing.
Perhaps I'm preparing myself not to be disappointed after a disappointing season. However, if it was to fall through, there aren't any other names.
I really hope VK the 'suggestions' are correct.

Fans hate being kept in the dark but BFC is a business. You could argue that a football club is different but it isn't really, they offer a product and the fans are it's customers. Some of the comments on here and on twitter looking into every aspect of the club leads me to think people have way to much time on their hands. You wouldn't do it with any other business you are a customer of.
Just because we are not being drip fed information every day, doesn't mean that the club are doing nothing. There are many things happening right now to get ready for the new season. Enjoy your summer, take a break from the news and relax. Far too many fans are working themselves up and getting angry for no reason. It really isn't good for your health.

I am a regular customer of Sainsburys, but I don't have an emotional link with them. I do with Burnley.

Some fans take it too far though and need to relax and let the club get on with running the business. I can guarantee that at the start of the season we will have a new management team and some new players to watch. Those checking for constant updates are not going to make that happen quicker.

Booths is a much better shop, but my nearest one is in Keswick, whereas there is a Sainsburys in Cockermouth, which is a bit nearer.

You should have seen the excitement when the local Booths brought out this years new uniform, people forming long queues ahead of its 9am release. 1 guy even went a bit further and had his name and a number printed on the back of his work shirt, said he wanted to look like his idol who worked in the wine aisleeastcoastclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 2:31 pmI don't disagree, but some would say they have an emotional attachment to Sainsburys and wouldn't shop anywhere else.

Chatted to my dad about the modern day demand for daily updates. Pre internet the season finished and you might have been lucky to get a few transfer rumours in the local papers or if you were really desperate for news rack up your parents phone bill on clubcall until the players returned for pre season.
Unless fans in pubs used to sit there during the summer months getting angry as the evening went on that Teasdale had yet to pen even an article in the Burnley Express!
As someone has posted above in August there will be a new manager and a team to watch just like there has every season for the past century.

Good luck taking that approach on here, it rarely works because people are unable to put aside their emotions to see the reality of what you're saying.
I've said this sort of stuff in the past and it mainly fell on deaf ears.

If club owners don't understand that many supporters have a strong emotional attachment to their club, then they shouldn't be club owners.

Yes if anything demonstrates your point, it was the huge backlash towards the ESL, by fans of those clubs involved, and even those that weren't.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 3:28 pmIf club owners don't understand that many supporters have a strong emotional attachment to their club, then they shouldn't be club owners.
And for better or worse football or sports in general do elicit an emotive response that other walks of life simply don't.

Burnley Express suggesting the VKs appointment will be soon is easy. Purely because it has to be soon with such a short close season. The fact is, it has to be soon and I doubt that the Burnley Express knows any more than the people on this BB. No doubt if it is next week though, they will claim advance knowledge.

I think many clubs do recognise that, and therfore create media content for fans to feel close to the club and players during the season. Unfortunately the close season is when business decisions are made and that can't be made public in the same way.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 4:11 pmYes, but I'm not saying the owners themselves should have an emotional attachment, only that they should recognise that the fans have.

Re: Name the next manager
Very much so, because football has become a big money industry, and people like that cannot afford to get involved..... Times have changed so much, the co-op don't care like they used to, you don't even get the divi nowlakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 4:11 pmYes, but I'm not saying the owners themselves should have an emotional attachment, only that they should recognise that the fans have.

You do get the Divi. You scan your card, the money builds up and you can have the cash off any co op bill.
