Are you ever happy? You wanted Dyche out and you got your wish, now you're already doubting Kompany before he's even got his feet under the table, just give him a fair crack of the whip, and you never know you might be pleasantly surprised.
Very happy actually corporate box prices are now negotiable and they are better value this year more games.
Kompany is a great PR appointment very similar to veira, we now have a manager that exudes diversity, a chance of young overseas players.
All is good however it will be tough for him - one of the qualities dyche possessed that I admired was his determination to stay through the difficult periods of his reign.
It will be interesting to see if VK has the same resolve because I think it will take until least mid-october to get the playing the way he wants so results could be poor.

Any new manager generally needs time to settle in and get the players playing in their preferred style, and that's why like you I'm expecting a rocky start to Kompamy's reign, especially if as expected he opts to reshape the squad, patience will be required, but one advantage is the Championship is a marathon not a sprint, and as long as we're around the PO places come Christmas I'd be fairly confident of us coming on stronger 2nd half of the season when our new squad has bedded in.

Couldn't agree more. We may also need another window in January to get everybody in the manager requires.

Some of our less patient posters really need to take a breath this season. I think there's zero chance we'll hit the ground running and it will take months to get things correct with a new style, and lets not forget, pretty much a new team.

Rovers were winning the league at Christmas, not even in the playoffs, Forrest were bottom after 8, got promotion, then there's our 23 undefeated season.

It's a long old slog, and the last thing the new management and team needs is moaning from the stands if we're not top after 2 games!! UTC.

I don't know if I've missed anything and I'm not having a dig at the club or Mr Pace but is there any information on Vincent kompanys contract length, who his number two is, who are the new backroom staff, there seems to be no info at all

Nothing official to my knowledge, but rumours the contract is 3 years, no idea on any assistants or backroom staff, which I agree is somewhat strange.

It my be still jockeying about for who wants to go where, so far as the back room staff are concerned. It would explain the delay, until the fan-heat made Burnley confirm VK’s appointment.. and why there is yet to be any deeper insight.

I'm not unduly worried as they'll be appointed in due course, the main thing was getting the gaffer sorted, and that's now been done.

Couldn’t agree more. Be nice to see the team taking shape next, though.

Adam Phillips posted an Instagram pic of him with Craig Bellamy at training yesterday, then quickly deleted it.

Why is it all hush hush?

I don't really get why we didn't confirm a contract length for VK - while it's becoming more common for players joining clubs to be described as signing "long-term" deals with no exact figure I don't remember managers being appointed with the same sort of secrecy.

His contract is four to five years, that’s what he said last Friday. I assume that means four years with an option for a fifth.

Although he admitted Craig Bellamy had been there, he wasn’t able to name any of the backroom staff. I think he suggested it might be this week. Clearly contracts not signed.

So, as I predicted, VK will be off to Spurs at the end of the season.
Jesse Marsch turned down the Leicester job because pace has offered him the Burnley job (predicted that one two years ago before he went to Leeds)
Saturday's lottery numbers are 3 7 11 22 34 41

Where on this thread did you do that? Can’t find evidence of your omnipotence anywhere here. Long thread to look through…

I did find this interesting though from only the second page… quite an astute assessment don’t you think?

During the game is not the time to discuss changing the manager, after the game - perhaps. I do also like RVClaret’s suggestion too.

For the record though, if Dyche goes, it needs a clean sweep of deadwood too. As mentioned on match thread, too many players out of contract means they won’t play as hard as they could if they knew the difference was Prem or Championship football next season - all players needed to be invested in the success and not enough were this season.

In the horrific event that VK gets potted I would absolutely hate to see the Ted Lasso/Jeremy Kyle impersonator rock up. Useless.

Blimey!
I'm amazed at all the fickle fair weather fans on here.
VK was the Messiah who could do no wrong six months ago. Nearly everyone on this forum gave VK full support... only 10 games in and the knives are out for him.
Pathetic really.
You don't become a bad manager overnight. The adaption from EFL to EPL has been massive and none of the promoted teams can cope with it.
For God's sake, we have to stay with Vinny through this troublesome period. We have illness and injured squad members yet to come back.

Can I just be very clear here I don't want VK to be potted. But for reasons I have given on other threads should he be potted I think JM would be our next a manager. Given the fact he was 500/1 couldn't resist a tenner.

You say that you don't, but yet you went to the trouble of locating this thread just to put another manager's name on. Weird!

Leicester City are showing that with 13 wins from their opening 14 matches, and set to easily surpass our points total from last season, that the Championship is chalk and cheese compared to the PL. As it currently stands the 3 relegated clubs fill 3 of the top 4 positions and even Leeds and Southampton have had some impressive recent results.
The 3 promoted clubs from the Championship are currently the bottom 3 in the PL. I think everybody connected with the club got a little carried away with our Championship exploits last season and the manner in which they were accomplished under a highly respected new manager. Trying to replicate that playing style successfully in the PL has proved disappointing thus far, but looking back we should not really be that surprised given the gulf in class between the top two divisions.
