Name the next manager

Post by Milltown1882 » Sun Apr 10, 2022 3:46 pm

Another chastening day for Burnley. If Dyche was to go who’s next?

I’ll start with Critchley or Cooper.

God only knows.

Sean deserves our utmost thanks but we probably have to part ways at the end of the season, whatever the cost. I don’t even think he convinces himself anymore.

Anyone. Just anyone. If Dyche can’t motivate his players after that win in midweek then he isn’t cut out for this. There is a reason why even when he got us up to 7th no other club came in for him.
We just need a manger with some tactical nous. Like for like subs and playing Westwood in midfield over cork has got old now.

They’ve not backed him. The previous board didn’t either so they money was there to invest and they didn’t.

ALK have backed the manager. It's obvious the manager has no imagination when it comes to trying something new.

Literally anyone

We have played bottom of the league twice ( who average 2 goals against per game) and have not had a shot never mind scored
We have been abysmal from front to back ALL game.

What an absolute dinosaur.

Dress it up all you want, when Burnley have a big game and need to deliver, he fails.

Doesn't cost anything or need skill to be able to pass the ball 20 yards.

Weghorst and Collins both donkeys. Cornet out of his depth. Didn’t invest in the midfield, replacing aging players. Where’s the vision?

So sad to see a team known for its grit and determination give up like this. Utter crap.

Carlos Corberan at Huddersfield. Dutch the dinosaur and get a young, innovative coach in. The 3 stooges. Dyche, Woan and Stone have had their day.

Really and how do you know this? Perhaps Dyches targets were knocked back because the board thought it wasnt value bringing in older workhorses for a relative large fee when younger. faster, more technical players could be targeted instead for less money therefore being much better value.

lets all blame the past and current board and not the man who's failed for the past 18 months.

If Wood didn’t leave, who would we have signed in the last transfer window?

Totally agree. His credit has run out and needs to go so we can have fighting start in the Championship with the new managers ethos and players. Trouble is I can see Dyche being to stubborn to walk as much as his team selection is

Weren't we on the brink of signing Orsic until he changed his mind? We needed a CM, not a winger.

If Wood had stayed we wouldn’t have signed anyone. Weghorst was the distraction from this shambolic new owners we have.

Absolutely zero chance Cooper comes to us. It’s a step down. Anyway they’ll probably be swapping places with us the way they are going. But even in the Champ it’s a sideways move for him at best.

Yeah, he’s done a remarkable job there, gone and knocked Celtic out of the Conference league, beat Roma twice at home, and plays fast attacking football with a modern system.

100% agree about Cooper, but not sure he'd leave a side that looks like they're on the up for a shambles like us.

Corberan good shout. Keep reading Dyche is the best man to get us back up. Really? The Championship has moved on since we were last there, not sure you can clog your way out of it now. Not convinced he is the man to rebuild us with youth and energy either. Sad state of affairs.

Would you walk when you can sit tight on a nice big fat contract with a lucrative financial severance package. He’s going nowhere off his own bat & I don’t blame him.

We failed to sign Orsic but had a full week to follow up other options (which we obviously did not have) ,meaning we could pocket £13m left over from Wood

The trouble with people saying they don't want pragmatic football should read the Rover's message board. They don't half regret the day they sacked Big Sam.

Their appointments post Big Sam (Kean and Berg) were the major problems, amongst other things, not just sacking him.

This what I don't get as well. How many times has Warnock taken teams out of the Championship? Would we hire him? NO! (I know he's just retired).

Anyone with a track record of buying a decent centre midfielder as the team cannot function without a working midfield like we have now.

Jurgen Klinnsmann for me I’d like to see us attack teams again

There must be a manager in the world that can improve us

Need to think outside of the box asap

But he has from working with them over the past few years. The players are getting older, slower and considering next seasons options

We shouldn’t be relying on some of the players in this current squad, I’m not having a go, but they are not good enough and should’ve been replaced some time ago.
