Would love to see Steve Cooper of Forest considered if they do not get promoted. Has got the Forest team playing brilliantly, and is bringing on some young talent. Great history in the Championship

What criteria are we judging applicants by?

Please let it be Owen Coyle. I think he would be the perfect mentor for Ben Mee

What the hell as Rooney done! Put the 21 points on that they got deducted and they are in 17th! For some reason people think he’s a genius coz derby have made a fight of staying up (there still going down btw) but it’s blinded people because there still 17th regardless.

I think people need to seriously lower their expectations and remember that the people running the club haven’t a ******* clue what they’re doing.
Get ready for someone like Felix Magath.

Going to be someone who has first name for a surname.

Re: Name the next manager
Going off the latest list from sky bet, would anyone take ole gunnar solskjaer, would quite possibly be an attractive job to him I reckon.
Re: Name the next manager
quite a remarkable achievement with absolutely zero funds, a **** poor squad of youth teamers and old pros and all of the off field problems.Gp8419 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 12:59 pmWhat the hell as Rooney done! BFS has to be our worst nightmare. If this did happen it would show that ALK are totally clueless. We can only wait and see and say a prayer every night.

Let the dust settle and keep Ben Mee in charge to the end of the season. I’ve been so self absorbed with BFC that I haven’t paid much attention to the qualities of other mangers. I’m guessing the owners of BFC will have their shortlist. Please FFS not Allerdyce!

Re: Name the next manager
Duff has been in management for four years.
He's gained a lot more experience and done better as a manager than several others on the list.
Past association with us should be the tiniest of considerations (if at all) but Duff has actually done well as a manager and shouldn't be ruled out.

Re: Name the next manager
I'll throw this name into the ring Rudi Garcia
Re: Name the next manager
It's not going to be Duff, it's not going to be BFS and it is not going to be Ben.
Re: Name the next manager
Wouldn't get linked with any other PL job, clearly his hat thrown into the ring only because of his past association with us as a player.Rowls wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 2:08 pmDuff has been in management for four years.

Re: Name the next manager
Then the other PL clubs aren't properly considering all their possibilities. We shouldn't make the same mistakes as they do, we should look to make better decisions than them.
Judging by today's news, I'm not confident on that front.
Re: Name the next manager
I think Pace will want someone with a bit of a high profile. Cheap though, too.
I can really see it being Carrick.

I would hope a PL club aren't considering appointing a tinpot League One clubs manager

Re: Name the next manager
I think your is exactly the kind of self-limiting thinking that led to the glut of 'Mike England' style managers and now restricts young talent reaching the top. If Pep Guardiola happened to have managed a lowly club do would it make him a worse manager?
Here's hoping for a good appointment based on managerial ability and that alone.
Re: Name the next manager
Why? because I don't want a manager who has zero experience in the 2nd tier nevermind the top flight? Let him gain his experience elsewhere and lets see how he does.Rowls wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 2:22 pmI think your is exactly the kind of self-limiting thinking that led to the glut of 'Mike England' style managers and now restricts young talent reaching the top. Re: Name the next manager
For me Chris Wilder is an interesting one. Far more technically astute than SD.Can change things round at half time. Knows the lower league players well, and has a great CV for promotions.Knows how to operate the loans market and a bit like Burnley capable of getting great results from lower league players. I know he got relegated with Sheff Utd last year, but so did SD about 8 years ago

Apparently Slaven Bilic has made it known that he’d be interested in the job
Re: Name the next manager
I doubt Wilder would come. He's under contract at Boro for 1. It's totally pointless him stepping up a division for 7/8 games.

I have little confidence in the current board to appoint a manager who can do a better job than the one they have just sacked, particularly as they hold the purse strings very tightly.
