I'll just be glad when a new manager is announced, I'm not arsed who it is so long as it's someone.

Of course it’s Kompany. It’s been obvious it’s Kompany for a couple of weeks now.alwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:07 pmBookies have him back at 1/20 so appears it's still VK

The thing is, is it worth betting £20k? For the sake of £1k, probably not.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:11 pmOf course it’s Kompany. It’s been obvious it’s Kompany for a couple of weeks now.

Why don’t you have a crack at it Sid? You get my vote as long as you don’t require a “work permit”.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:04 pmAny enthusiasm I had about him coming is gone now.

Despite what has been said and what’s potentially going to be said, I remain firmly that it has not been a work permit issue.1HappyClaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 12:39 pmHow, if it is believed that it is down to a work permit, could it have been handled any better? Re: Name the next manager
I would suggest there’s been a lot to deal with. It’s not likely to be one appointment when it happens. I think there was a real hold up in it being agreed because of the Borussia Mönchengladbach link. But the info I’ve been given said it was not a work permit issue and it’s from someone whose opinion I trust and value.

Interesting and fair enough. Not one appointment, possibly a director of football too?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:30 pmI would suggest there’s been a lot to deal with. Could be a number of things:-
Whether AP sanctions VK bringing all his backroom staff with him
Whether there is a director of football and if so ,who
etc

Re: Name the next manager
Sorry to intrude, but for my own curiosity, what coaching qualifications does Kompany have to make him eligible for an International Sportspersons visa for the manager's job?

Re: Name the next manager
I respect CTs opinion, and the info he got he believes, which anyone would, but too many, respected journalists, here and abroad, mention work permit issues that there has to be some truth in it, either for Kompany, or members of his staff
Just to add, I've never known a so called done deal, take this long to announce

Hasn't been since it was announced as happening two/three weeks? ago
Though to be fair, as a championship club we are no longer in the top division so we are not as important and it might be that there was enough going on for us not to be worth mentioning, but even then, Kompany is a big enough name to generate interest you'd have thought
Re: Name the next manager
I guess its been a hold up with coaching staff? Any chance Ben Mee signs on as an assistant coach!

He should hold the Uefa Pro licence, A&B.
Initially he didn't and Anderlecht were fined for making him their manager because they're a requirement in Belgian football, but he's done them since then from what I've read.

My trust in "anonymous club sources" is essentially zero
Re: Name the next manager
There wasn’t much reporting online / worries online of the Gladbach interest causing our deal with VK to be off, I think is what he means. Whereas you have suggested that there was possibly quite a bit more to it.

An A Licence I think is required for the Championship but a Pro Licence for the Premier League.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 1:56 pmHe should hold the Uefa Pro licence, A&B.

Fackin 'ell this is dragging on a bit now! Unfortunately there won't be much excitement when Kompany's finally revealed. Shame for him that really.

You're spot on - Tuesday, 30th October 2012.
Re: Name the next manager
Might as well have a guess that the announcement will be linked to refinancing/new investment.
